He had what’s called a lefort style fracture. It’s where you break the maxilla (top jaw), eye sockets cheekbones nose etc. much harder work to put together correctly compared to the lower jaw. He may have also broken his mandible at the same time but unlikely.
Main issue for api is he will be...
I’m assuming club just sent him back to someone they usually deal with in Sydney….but if it was me and I was in qld, I’d probably just stay there for a day or two and get one of the guys there to fix it. It’s a pretty bread and butter operation for a maxillofacial surgeon though so someone in...
I do this for a living. Standard person is 6 weeks out. There is no wiring anymore but will be plated and screws. If really pushed by the club and player you can use heavier plates etc and get him back in 4 weeks but it has its own risks associated.
Lawerance had midface not mandible fracture...
As a doctor this is pretty straight forward to answer. The vaccine doesn't make you completely immune to it, but it certainly reduces the severity and risk of death and hospitalisation. Would you want to catch Covid, potentially give it to a family member who may have been too young, or too...
100% as bad as BJs, plus a high tackle which deserves a week. Can't wait to be disappointed by the match review committee as no chance he cops as high a charge as BJ. Will be lucky to get banned for 2 weeks. How is his act of emotion any different from BJs?
I do wish he had seen a maxillofacial surgeon compared to a plastic surgeon. Plastic surgeons are great at dealing with soft tissue injuries but when it comes to bones of the face they don't have the same understanding.
The injuries he has suffered throughout his career are amazing. Says so...
I thought he was going to be better than koroibete after watching them in NYC. He just looked so natural on the field but hasn't translated that to NRL consistently unfortunately.
Don’t agree. John’s pointed out that if it wasn’t the last he would have jammed up and in (which is funny as this forum blasts him for doing exactly that instead of staying on the wing). I’m happy to agree that nofo is a pretty average defender, but he didn’t do much wrong in that instance.
That’s not at all what John’s said. He pointed out he was back for the kick like all other wingers would be on the last and the dogs took advantage. At no point was Nofo blames by John’s. If anything they felt it was lazy from the inside men to not get back On side.
