I don't know why we re-signed Toa. He is good depth and has a good game in him but consistency and defensive issues will always bring him down in the order. Maybe as a replacement for Naden & Staines but I suspect he is being paid much more than that level.

Good point. Not involved in 2005 team. Whoever did that has no knowledge of the club and when players played. Dare we say it? So typical of our behind the scenes staff.
I think squad would be xrtrengthened with a couple of niche role players:
a/ another high quality goal kicker (forward / back doesnt matter) as an alternate to Doueihi if injured / suspended
b/ a backrow forward that can relieve for Apr as hooker to give him the break which he will need more...
Hopefully we are getting better. We do seem to be, but the real tests are against top 4 sides. Having said that we have improved a lot, thank you Benji, coaching staff and players not giving up.
Bird, we can hope he can get interest as a,squad filler / ESL. Hunt I can only hope gas some KPIs within contract that can be used if he doesn't pick up fitness / interest in the game.
