I think neutrals firmly on the fans side right now, but these things turn if they drag on.
Let's see mate, I think PVL thinks he's fixed it but its probably worse than we were 2 weeks ago as its now reportedly a HBG majority board so I think at least one big effort from the fans who care...
I really don't know if I should engage, but I'll try one response and see!
Your argument that we don't know enough assumes that the anger is about the last 2 weeks only.
Here are 3 objective facts in the public domain relating to the period of HBG being majority shareholder which should be...
Magpies and Balmain are not WT. To me they are the same as dogs fans who show up every now and then. Tolerable if civil, delete the accounts if they dont shut up or troll. It's a Wests Tigers forum not a general NRL forum.
Reminder to anyone who doesn’t want constant input from people who put WT second to another club....There is an ignore function and its actually enjoyable for me to see all the one line zingers without having to read the idiocy they respond to
Worst thing I've read all day, from HBG:
We again wish to reassure our fans and the broader NRL of our commitment to the joint venture.
Go committ yourselves elsewhere you useless pricks.
After a big spike in crowds and membership i can see these metrics taking a huge nose dive. Can the least funded, worst performing team of the last 15 years survive a 20% drop in crowds and sales? For context i think 2025 was our fourth highest average after 2005, 2006 and 2010 so a drop is...
Sad day if all options re intervention are already exhausted or not being pursued.
I feel no connection to the club at the moment. Honestly, I hope that continues, I know there is a chance many of us still tune in rd 2 but zero chance of me renewing membership this year and hopefully I move on...
Interesting.... so HBG dont own WT the brand but are majority shareholders in the Football club/company of the same name with rights (via the licence) to participate under that name in the NRL?
Long-winded sorry, but trying to understand the exact legal status as it creates many opportunities...
Somber days, hard to read every post from the sheer volume so apologise if this has been answered.
What exactly is it that a club licences from the NRL? Is it the team name? Or is it basically a position in the competition and the club owns any IP in the team name? Something else?
