The game wasn’t ruined. The better team won. The more deserving team on the day won. You can not rely on referee decisions and piggybacks to win the game for you. People are crying over those 3 calls. For mine only the dropped ball called a strip was iffy. The other two were correct.

Best wasn’t defending very well on the left and towards the end of the game Crossland started appearing up there in cover. Smart player who works like a dog. KP has been really good this year., arguably better than he was the year he won his Dally M.

I thought he was an absolute liability this year. Poor defender with slippery hands who looked a yard too slow and not committed to the collision. Who were the candidates? Very undeserving win.

The Warrior chaser stuffed up there. He wasn’t getting through on that angle and therefore played for the penalty. The Warriors did that a number of times tonight. I’m glad it wasn’t blown, as it was a blatant dive.

When they re-played it at real speed the ball clearly deflected after moving past his hand. Showing it in ultra slowmo confuses people.

Newcastle are very good at knowing when to be using their challenges. 1 per game but you keep it if successful. They won 3 challenges today I think.

They were on their third string halves combo. That makes it tough. Their pigs played well.

Great win Newcastle. They are playing tough and committed footy in this finals series. Not necessarily skilful but showing plenty of ticker. Warriors just that bit too inexperienced in the spine. They’ll be back next year and go hard again.

Warriors halves just aren’t good enough as a pairing. They’ve been very unlucky with injuries in these positions.

Maka should not have seen first grade this year. He was as ready for it as I am. He was also used poorly. The kid has no skills that a good centre possesses. Should have been wing only if he had to play That said, yes he could be a good winger one day.
