On the first Penrith try wasn't Api taken out by Martin? Martin jumps nowhere near the ball and pulls Api away from the bomb. The bomb bounces where Api was and Penrith recover. Is that not the disruptor rule? I'm just not sure what explains that decision based on new rules, or even before that...
Great summary. I agree that he's looking good. I think people also want him to be a match winner in attack and he's obviously still learning how and when to inject himself into the play. I'd particularly like to see him be more of a threat in attacking kicks, but I still think those little...
People knocking Benji for bench rotation is harsh. The team is obviously being cautious with Latu and I think seyfarth and S Fainu had great impact and were used well.
Hopefully we get to see more of Latu in the middle, I've always felt by playing Pole in the middle it dampens his impact as a...
Many props are able to play good footy into their 30s, Klemmer seems to be going the Tamou route of turning up and playing his minutes and that's about it.
I felt Stefano played really well off the back of his runs last year but he's looked timid this year.
He should be given a run from the...
Stef has been brilliant this year. No doubt gone up quite a few pegs. I thought he wasn't near origin the past few years but he now should be there and will be a really good off the bench impact prop in that arena. Well done to him and Benji for the significant lift in his game.
As for whether...
We were terrible today. Errors, penalties when we started to look good, bud Sullivan.
The thing that really stood out to me though was the way their backs dominated our forwards in getting quick play the balls. Lomax in particular was driving forward against 2-3 forwards and getting quick play...
I get and like that Benji lets his halves play, but Bud's focus this week should be setting up his backrowers and centres and stop being so frantic. He's too desperate in attack. I wish he played within himself a bit and was more judicious with his excellent inside step.
I like when he's fighting in tackles for quick play the balls and when he's up in people's faces with good line speed. He's intense and wears people down when he plays like that. He doesn't need the extra stuff of stupid offloads and purposeless sideways running and penalties. I wasn't for him...
With Galvin he slows the play, straightens the attack and has excellent awareness and passing. With Sullivan it's absolutely frantic and it looks like an all or nothing play every time.
Bateman also stunk it up.
Papalii gets gassed in games, the good run by Marshall has been on in the 2nd...
There we have it... Sloan knocks a kick on, Flanagan in front of him blatantly offside picks the ball up after trying to leave it because he knew he was offside but had to pick it up to avoid Newcastle playing on. Is it a penalty based on WTs decision last week? No. Love the consistency.
If we were looking for a destination to send Bud you'd think Gus would be available every day of the week to take that call at the Dogs.
Bud, to me, seems like a perfect fit at the Bulldogs, they need that livewire exciting sort of player in the halves. They'd probably need to offload a player...
Nothing against Sullivan, but with fainu, Galvin and Luai in our squad next year there's just no room for his contract. If we can get rid of him for nothing I'd take that.
Yeah, fair comments about Sezer. The poor kicks were the first thing Sezer mentioned in post game interview when asked about the winning field goal. Really like that desire to be accountable.
I also think despite those poor kicks he was very good for us throughout the game. Level headed and...
Great win off the back of gritty play. I know we won by a lot last week, but the Sharks had some stupid plays with kicks out on the full and some relieving penalties. It just felt like the ball fell for us last week. Feel like we got very little this week and our defense was great. Definitely...
