Madden is an organiser. Get the basics right, kick effectively, make your tackles. Guy next to him is on 6 times more money and doesn’t look vastly better. Defence killed us. Man up in defence and we win. Our attack isn’t good enough to win 40-36 games.

They were winning games without those two players. We had one of the highest paid guys in the comp running the show.

I think right now you’d have to have him at centre if he’s fit. For all his supposed issues he’s infinitely better than Toa and Herbert. God knows where we’d be without May as the other centre.

I get that but 4 players out and we turn to manure. We can’t be that close between a top 4 and a bottom 2 team that 4 or 5 guys out has that big an impact. I’m not saying there’s not going to be a drop off but some of those guys are kidding themselves if they think that’s first grade standard.

But the logical extension of that is because it’s GP the game ends once someone is ahead. Play would otherwise start from a kickoff but because of GP it doesn’t. You need to think of it as a single play.
