Wow - potentially losing a hooker is being treated as the end of the world -it's not.

No, and it doesnt matter. The next contract extension is for season 2027 onwards.Don't disagree.
But, at this stage- can you tell me TDS is a better starting option than Api?
These are those no-win situations. Each choice is wrong. The only right one is both stay.
However, if the TDS camp puts the 'him or me' argument forward, the club must choose.
I suggested a few days back a contract to TDS with mutual options written into each year beyond 2027 on the chance Api plays on, giving him the chance to negotiate out & move if the starting spot just isn't happening. Still think that is the way to go. Give Api an extra year. If TDS can't arrest playing time off Api by then, he can move on. Also gives the club another 2-3 years to bring Haywood along.
It is Dumb because it is played out in the media do you see the Roosters, Storm, Panthers having this same drama??Why is it a dumb decision,
You would let TDS tell Benji what to do, most others would say the player should do as he is told
By the coach.
You are missing the point.Wow - potentially losing a hooker is being treated as the end of the world -it's not.
exactly. let alone hours before a game.It is Dumb because it is played out in the media do you see the Roosters, Storm, Panthers having this same drama??
This club does not learn. As stated in previous threads these kids where made promises from past people in Charge that is coming back to bite us.
Agree. Im not sure the club has actually put a succession plan to both Api & TDS for consideration to get their feedback. We always knew the timing of the handing over between one and the other would be tricky. The handling of TDS remains to be seen. I dont think the club had any choice when it came to how it handled Galvin tho. He is chasing a premiership faster then what we can offer him and was going regardless. I do hope that WTs can work out a way of keeping Api and TDS
Because we are still interested in resigning him, and allowing him to test the market early as part of good faith discussionsthe third one, why can’t we just be like every other club and accept he’s leaving and let him see out his contract. why have all this drama .
Gee Penrith are shit at retaining their juniors 😉Every club loses juniors, some people might like to think we are the only club in the NRL who has ever lost a few juniors. Will TDS be a star for another club? Who knows. Is Api an elite hooker still playing very strong football? Yes. You play your best players, Api for another two years then Haywood slots in nicely, this is not an end of the world loss, much like Galvin have faith in the clubs direction, we are not dealing with Pascoe and Madge.
No you didn’t, I corrected your statement to say talented.I said talented.
No but they have lost the likes of Katoa, Longi etc.Gee Penrith are shit at retaining their juniors 😉
What from left right out?Well I must say we will all be watching how TDS goes tonight
Come on now, we both know players aren’t developed at the Tigers. You are missing the point.
We arent just losing a hooker.
We could be losing a local junior who the club has spent many years developing, is very talented and has a long career ahead of him barring a hideous run of injury.
We said we were going to rebuild the club around these young guns we had coming through and then just started letting them go. It’s pathetic and that mindset is the reason we live in the cellar of this competition. You cannot be taken seriously when you keep unearthing talent, get them first grade ready and then let them go to the opposition to have rewarding careers, whilst we start all over again, or pay through the nose for outside hire.
Why does Haywood slot in nicely? He has never even played 1 game of senior footy.Every club loses juniors, some people might like to think we are the only club in the NRL who has ever lost a few juniors.
TDS is one of the success stories in the development sphere.Come on now, we both know players aren’t developed at the Tigers.
Manase Fainu early parole maybe??? lolYou thinking what I'm thinking?
🤔
I would imagine any half decent hooker would slot in nicely next to a halves combo of Luai and Fainu with a pack consisting of May, Pole, Fainu, KPP etc. He appears to making a quick climb through the grades and obviously experts in the club have seen enough in him to warrant extending his contract long term and moving on TDS, I would like to think Richo and Benji know enough about the NRL to know who is the better long term option at 9.Why does Haywood slot in nicely? He has never even played 1 game of senior footy.
How so?TDS is one of the success stories in the development sphere.
