Apisai Koroisau #263

I actually think the hooker rotation is wrong. Hope should start nice crisp service and set the line speed for the first 25 mins along with solid defence.

Let API come on for the last 15 and he can scheme through tired ruck defence. Give him another 20 - 25 after half time and bring hope back on for the last 15 - 20.

Coaching is the real issue for this club .....

Really begs the question why we're extending a guy who's going to become a part time player at the expense of one of the most highly rated juniors at his position.

For leadership, the plan was always to transition API. TDS didn't want to wait he wanted to be the top dog sooner so he left. TDS isn't ready and probably won't be for the best part of two seasons. Hope is more than serviceable in a transition role until Haywood comes through......

We're all hoping he plays better and I don't think anyone has any ill-will towards Api, but it's becoming rather apparent that extending him isn't going to be a very good move either.

The more and more I think about it, it's just total madness to me that you would extend a player who you've already got under contract, when you know their best is behind them or if they're a truly special player (e.g. a Cam Smith). I get chucking on an extra year or two for a guy who's in his prime or entering his prime, but Koroisau's a couple years past his prime now and his play could fall of a cliff rather suddenly.

This is some real roster management 101 stuff we're getting wrong here.

Still, one of the best to ever pull on our jersey.

We haven't deserved him, hes been the best in our team for years and now we got people complaining we're stuck with him.

We had Brooks for 10 years and he couldn't even tie Apis shoelace.
Fans exaggerate everything. Everyone's given him a heap of respect but he's been poor for a while now. He needs to improve.

Had a poor game.
Hopefully plays better next week.

He's bled for the club.
Deserves some respect.
Yeah, but respect doesn't equal prioritising a would be 34yo rake in 2027. Cameron Smith might have played until 36, but he was an outlier with a very different skill set.
