Smash the remote into a million pieces

Good.

Kayo is excellent, but they are 5 years too late on it.

Paying $60/month for cable TV with average TV shows and movies + sports was a rip off. They never adjusted to the market.

Kinda like Taxi companies. They had monopoly until Uber/Ola came. Taxi drivers were getting $80/hr every night. What a rip off.

I hope Coles/Woolworths are next with the way they monopolise the market as well. Shop SMALL people!

After Fox/Newscorp's treatment of mental health in regards to George Williams, I hope they burn to the ground.

Lol, dramatic...

I don't think it quite happened like that.

Yeah, but you're known for your bad takes, so, ya know!

Am I?

They reported he was asking to move to a beach side club and agitating a release using homesickness as an excuse.

Is that what you're referring to?

They may be right, Williams may be a flog but on the off-chance that he is genuinely home sick and depressed? The fact of the matter is he's got a young family, kid on the way, unable to see extended family for a while. COVID has hit everyone differently.

My issue with this is the Foxsports "journalists" have ganged up on him. They're releasing multiple one-sided artilces a day, having 30 minute segments on NRL 360 about him. There is a chance that he is actually depressed and he actually has mental health issues currently, even if they may not believe so. For a massive news channel to behave this way is verging on bullying.

Anyone renewed lately with Foxtel what deals are they offering?

Not sure but if you are a subscriber make sure you demand $20 per month yearly discount. If you don't keep an eye on your bill they will reinstate. I have go through with this charade every yearly anniversary of my acct.

Foxtel breaks rules with live sport betting promotion

Foxtel has breached broadcasting rules by airing a segment promoting a betting service during the live broadcast of an AFL match on Easter Monday afternoon.

An Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) investigation found the broadcast breached the rules in the Subscription Broadcast Television Codes of Practice 2013.
ACMA Chair Nerida O’Loughlin said under the rules broadcasters must not air gambling advertising during or within five minutes of live sports broadcast between 5 am and 8.30 pm.
“These rules are in place to reduce exposure to betting promotions. In particular, parents worry about their children seeing gambling ads, especially those associated with shared family activities like sport,” said Ms O’Loughlin.

“Foxtel is well aware of the rules and it is disappointing that this betting promotion was allowed to go to air.”

Foxtel self-reported the breach to the ACMA following a complaint from a viewer. The breach of the rules occurred as a result of human error during the live broadcast.

Following the breach finding, Foxtel provided refresher training to staff about Foxtel’s obligations relating to betting advertising under the Code. Foxtel has also introduced new controls to ensure that gambling advertisements are not improperly broadcast during live sporting events in the future.

They change the name of this discount regularly. This year it was called Foxtel Premium Offer. I was a bit slow this year demanding reinstatement and they nipped for $20 before reinstatement. I am on a bundle with Telstra but discount thru Foxtel. Threaten to leave and you might get discount on plan as well. I downgraded from Platinum to Premium at the same time. The discount has been going for years but of course if you don't ask with these mobs they will just continue with plans they know are obsolete and expensive. They also won't tell you if you need upgraded equipment to match your plan.

Any help appreciated before i have to decipher pigeon english via customer service
.Foxtel have stripped the music channels for their satellite services from about 30 to 7 channels
My question is if i go onto a data plan with them ,what damage would it do to my wallet if i ran the telly 24 /7 ?, can i just plug a dongle into the tv? as i have no land line
Would it be viable retaining basic satellite coverage for sport movies ang general viewing and using data just for music , as all that streaming stuff doesn't float my boat . Cheers

Foxtel said they don't send out technicians any more for satellite repairs or anything like that.

They may offer you the new IQ box which connects through internet instead.... this is streaming, essentially.

You'd require a somewhat good internet provider and plan to be able to watch/stream without issues.

MTV has moved on to Paramount.
Sport is being scattered across other services.
HBO moved their shows onto their platform, which [for now] foxtel is including in Premium packages.

If it wasn't for NRL, I'd be cancelling.
Honestly seems like a dying product.
