if only, it is the wrong thread but ?, Both the top 2 men's teams crumbled in the last 2 rounds of their competitions , Thats a weak spot .
To give up when all is lost - is a reason to just keep losing.
those 2 men don't tolerate idiots

To be fair, he inherited Cleary’s mess here with an instable board and inadequate players signed on big $$$

He was forced to take on a team having just lost their 3 best players (two of which went on to become great), with Matulino, Mcqueen, Packer, Reynolds and Mbye taking up a massive chunk of the cap

He signed Luciano, Stefano, Blore, Tuilagi, Tamou, Papali’i

He was building a good team on paper

Things are different now, we have a skilful CEO. Back then though, the CEO and Chair often spoke about leadership being their #1 priority, but they discouraged it by doing things like sacking Maguire soon after giving him a renewed contract. Can’t imagine how deflating that must have been for players like Papali’i, Utoikamanu, Blorey? Come to think of it…they also sacked Sheens after upgrading his contract which made Galvin want out. I just hope we don’t get rid of Richo, he gives me hope that we can make the playoffs in the next 2 or 3 seasons.

On top of this, we had a soft playing group that didn't like his hard management style.

Always felt it was a mistake to get rid of him, he was very passionate about the club and turning it around. He just needed buy-in from the playing group.

Really hope the Broncos win it next week, as he thoroughly deserves it.
 
Yep, I have no hard feelings towards Madge. Hasn't bad mouthed us at all. But I was happy to see him leave when he did. Wrong coach at the wrong time. Probably would do better now.
Anyhow, this will be a GF where I couldn't give a hoot as to who wins. Just hope the whistle blower lets the players decide the game.
 
Cleary made GF two years after dumping us, now so did Madge.

Stefano, Garner, Papali'i, Blore, Benji (2021) Billy walters (2023) all and many more made prelims/ GFs within a year or two of leaving us.

Not a pity party but a big proof that the issue with us hasn't been coaching, rosters/squads or even the Board/ CEO. It's all to do with funding and lack of support.

Really hope Richo can set up the right systems here where we can get the best out of every member of the club.

In terms of Madge, he deserves it. I am quite happy for him. First NZ, then NSW and now Broncos. He's almost had the best coaching moments 3 years in a row!
