Great post.

He seems like the type of player who no one knows about and then he just stays in the shadows. Gets developed properly then comes outta nowhere and people are like, "who is this kid?"

Much like Sharks do with their outside backs.
Iro, Stonestreet and now Michael Gabrael.

Cheers, has come out of no where was just curious if he is purely NSW cup level or any potential to be a Shibasaki level come from nowhere story.
 
Glassie Glassie till I think 28 I have heard he is good but does anyone have an opinion on him ?

Is he a power centre?

What game on Saturday too in NSW Cup. We take on the ladder-leading Panthers who have only had one loss.

This will be a HUGE test for our depth players and who may put their hand up for NRL selection.

Hopefully Jack Attard returns against his former club but tbh Logan Brookes has done everything asked of him & more since getting the call up the past 2 weeks.

I reckon we'll take a squad of 20-21 to Brisbane for NRL Magic Round so once again there will be 3 or 4 who don't get game time this week before a bye in both grades next week.

Seeing Mason has played no footy in Cup at Fullback. Do you think Attard or Logan can step up into that role until Bula is fit?

110% Bwg and Demps this kid can be a very good players for West Tigers, far better than Hope in time. There are a lot of good solid prospect within our ranks currently that need developing of their skills. That’s a strong position Tigers to be in—having solid internal talent ready to grow is a big advantage. The key is turning that potential into capability in a structured, consistent way.
 
Andrew’s is very exciting to watch, still a lot to work on but the base is there. Seems a lot like Bula in that calm nonchalant way.
He’ll be ready once Luai moves off to PNG and could be a real chance of nailing that left halves spot.

Andrews and Doueihi would be a big bodied halves pairing but both have the skill to make it work.

Let's hope so WT. He's is doing everything right so far. Does have his knee strapped, not sure if recent or a previous major injury.

My MOM was Josese Lanyon who is just growing in confidence each week at this level. Decisive out of dummy half & very good in defence. Glad the club has him secured for another 2 seasons, not sure on contract.

Vaka Aho laid the platform up the middle & scored a nice crash over try off a beautiful Lanyon pass. 193m including 65m post-contact from 57 mins showing his tank as well. He does have at least one handling error & one poor missed tackle most games but I hope the club gives him a T&T next season. He's better than both Bunty Afoa & Mav Geyer in the middle imo.

Tino Tavana, well done son. He took his demotion well & played his typical Tino very good game - intercept, efforts on high kicks, defusing high kicks in defence & scoring with an acrobatic finish. 166 run metres from 12 carries too (50m from an intercept). Stats show 5 handling errors but most if not all of these were by contesting attacking bombs so the error was 5-10m out from the Storm's line.

Also loving the effort & line speed from Luke Jack and Lanyon's partner-in-crime Bailey Hodges out of dummy half and clean-up work in defence.

Arguably our most ineffectual player was Starford To'a, am increasingly concerned that he cannot use much of his left arm. Seems to be cautious using it to fend or push off a player & to push up off the ground during ptbs.

The Wests Tigers Jersey Flegg and Knock-On Effect NSW Cup sides travelled to Melbourne to take on the Storm over the weekend, with both coming home victorious for a second weekend in a row.

Jersey Flegg vs Melbourne Storm: 28-20 win

A line break in the 10th minute from Filipe Huahulu on the left wing, saw him pass inside to Riley Oitmann, who scored and converted his own try. The Storm were quick to respond, bringing the scores level at 6-6 soon after.

With only minutes left in the first half, an impressive offload from Pheonix Godinet to Bailey Smith saw Smith cross for a try, with a successful conversion.

Moments later, the Tigers had an opportunity for a penalty goal, which Oitmann made, pushing them into a 14-6 lead at halftime.

The second half opened with Jack Biles kicking a grubber, which was collected by Xavier Tauaifaiga to extend the Tigers lead further. Biles followed up with a try of his own soon after, taking the Tigers to a 22-6 lead.

A try from the Storm narrowed the margin, but Smith crossed again for his second try of the match, with Oitmann converting to make it 28-10.

The Storm staged a late comeback but were unable to catch the Tigers, with the match finishing 28-20.

NSW Cup vs Melbourne Storm: 38-22 win

An early interception from Tino Tavana brought the Magpies into the match, leading to a set of plays that saw the ball move through the backline to Fiohiva Fainga’a on the left, scoring in his fifth consecutive match.

Four minutes later, the Storm found space in the middle and scored, converting the try to put the home side ahead 6-4.

Josese Lanyon found Vaka Aho in space, who powered through the Storm defence close to the posts, giving Javon Andrews an easy conversion.

Melbourne responded and retook the lead with 10 minutes left in the half, but two well-executed converted tries from Lanyon and Mitchell Taotua before halftime put the Magpies ahead 22-12 at the break.

Early in the second half, the Storm closed the gap with a converted try, reducing the Magpies lead to four points.

However, tries from Tino Tavana, Solomone Saukuru, and a second from Fainga’a sealed a 38-22 victory for the Western Suburbs Magpies in the sides’ first-ever match at AAMI Park.
