Wests Tigers welcome four new NRLW Development players for 2026

The Wests Tigers are pleased to announce the addition of four new Development players to the Club’s NRLW squad ahead of the 2026 season.

Kayla Henderson, Diamond Graham, Vasaliva Feleti, and Lahnayah Daniel will join the program, reinforcing the Club’s commitment to nurturing emerging talent.

The diverse group of players will be involved with the NRLW squad in a development capacity, given the opportunity to hone their skills under the guidance of Craig Sandercock, while getting valuable playing time within the Club’s Pathway.

In addition to training alongside established stars in the top squad, the players will work closely with elite coaching and performance staff – guiding all facets of their journey as athletes.

Wests Tigers NRLW Head Coach, Craig Sandercock is excited about the prospect of seeing this group of Development players start their journey in a professional system.

“The whole purpose is to get them into the NRLW system, help them learn their trade and accelerate their development,” Sandercock said.

“They’re exposed to NRLW training standards and expectations and get to work with our leading players.

“They’re around the likes Kezie Apps, Sarah Togatuki, Raecene McGregor and the rest of the squad, so they learn what it takes to be at an elite level. That’s a massive part of their learning.”

Kayla Henderson joins the program after an impressive season in the Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership with the Newcastle Knights, where she played a key role in their run to the Grand Final.

“She’s really quick on her feet, trains hard and can play across the outside backs – fullback or wing. We’re really happy with how she’s progressing.”

One of the youngest recruits, Diamond Graham, who has already shown her potential on the national stage.

“She’s still really young and played Australian Schoolgirls last year as a dummy-half. I’m excited to see how she develops when she comes in and trains with our NRLW players.”

A powerful outside back, Vasailva Feleti who got her first opportunity playing rugby league in Australia through a Tongan age-group teams tour in 2024 and has been developing her game with the North Sydney Bears in the Tarsha Gale Cup.

“She’s a really strong centre or outside back. We believe she has a bright future and we’re looking forward to bringing the best out in her as she develops.”

Back rower, Lahnayah Daniel brings experience playing in an open-age competition, highlighting her readiness for the next step.

“The idea is for her to learn from players like Kezie Apps, Shaylee Bent and others and really understand what it takes to perform at the highest level.”

The Wests Tigers NRLW side’s season will begin on Sunday, 5 July at CommBank Stadium against the Parramatta Eels.

Not sure if it has been mentioned on here or even announced yet by the club but apparently Victa will be on the back of the Nrlw jersey. Supposedly the largest sponsorship deal in the Nrlw for the back of jersey. Congrats to all involved.

Victa as sponsor harks back to the Lidcombe days when Victa sponsored the Magpies in days long gone.
Happy they're still involved with us.

Hopefully we have someone that can kick a ball well, and goalkick
I was looking at the profile page the other day Losana Latu still here but shes an average kicker...we need better

The iconic Australian lawnmower company will feature proudly on the team's upper back, supporting women’s rugby league as it continues to flourish at Concord.

TIGERS

Can big changes spark them to life?

New coach, new players, new opportunities.

The Wests Tigers have all the pieces in place for a big transformation in the NRLW this year, but just how much progress can the side make?

The Tigers claimed the wooden spoon in 2025, with one win from their 11 matches.

Unsurprisingly, the result sparked a huge overhaul, beginning with the appointment of Craig Sandercock as coach on a two-year deal. Sandercock has held numerous roles over two decades as a coach, including a stint as an NRL assistant at the Tigers between 2016 and 2019.

Sandercock’s signing has coincided with a big roster overhaul at the Tigers, with a focus on bringing in some much-needed experience. Shaylee Bent, Holli Wheeler and Raecene McGregor are among the new faces charged with bringing about a Tigers transformation.

According to Tahnee Norris, it is McGregor who will bring some newfound direction for the side in the halves. The Kiwi Ferns halfback moves over from St George Illawarra.

“That’s what they really needed from last year is just some really quality spine players, and I think Raecene’s going to add to them. It’ll be tough for them this year but I think they’ll be a lot stronger than what they have been in the past,” Norris said.

There are fewer bigger fans of McGregor than Gale, and she believes the Tigers are a team to watch in 2026 and could even push for a top-four berth.

“I don’t think there’s a better infield kicker or attacking kicker than Rae McGregor,” she said.

“The way she can put that on the boot and the outside bats come flying onto it, I think that is a sensational pick up for the West Tigers, along with Shenai Lendill from the Tigers, one of the most underrated. She’s wiry, she does not stop. She’s deceptively stronger and more powerful than what her smaller body shape suggests.

“Add to that Shayley Bent from the Titans. She can go on the left edge alongside Kezie Apps on the right. Holli Wheeler up the middle will add the extra grunt up front. Imagine her working with Togatuki.

“So I reckon the two-time, back-to-back wooden spooners, look out.”

Forward Kezie Apps is another experienced name that will be key to the Tigers’ prospects. Apps is one of the most experienced players in the NRLW, and needs to step up in a leadership capacity among the side’s younger faces.

“They’ve got a couple of young players,” Norris said.

“Namoe Gesa is one from Queensland, the young centre. She’s solid, has a really strong build and has a big future in front of her, but again she’s inexperienced.”
