Can I ask how you think Tuckers posts are normally quite good? That seems at odds with everyone else's opinion so im curious

I doubt he knows enough about rugby league in general or what is going on within the Wests Tigers rugby league department to know what to leak even if he wanted to.
This is where many people are missing the point regarding boards in general, our current board, the independent board members that were sacked and all other boards across the entire NRL are 10 steps behind a fair few people on this very forum when it comes to rugby league knowledge and what is required to have a successful playing roster and staff.
They get on boards to feel important and generally based on what they have done in the corporate world, that doesn’t mean they have any real rugby league knowledge, street smarts so to speak.
I believe Shaun Mielekamp is a much better and smarter operator than what many like to give him credit for.
He analyses everything, looks at everything holistically, has no ego or arrogance about him and knows how to communicate and manipulate the right people when he needs to.
This is exactly what is required from a good NRL CEO, they don’t need to necessarily like the board they answer to, just know how to communicate and manipulate them.

Or the opposite Shane talks about Moses in a good light and Moses gets a few good juniors on his books and they leave for other clubs

Everybody knows & can see the HBG led WT board has no idea mate we haven’t had any success on or off the field in 10 years

Difference with us & other clubs is we’re stuck with debentures holders not elected board members

Yes, I don’t like that part either.
I just have confidence that SM is a smart enough operator to tell them what they want to hear, but also be manipulative enough to get the answers he needs more often than not.

I’m sure he is doing his best … but what you are describing is operating with one hand tied behind his back …it’s a handicap for a job that is already exceedingly difficult

WT seemed to have plugged the leaks on their side. like take the assistant coach search, the only candidates we know about are Shane Flanagan and Mick Crawley, both of whom are closely connected to the media.

the Averillo news dropped when it was a done deal, Brailey came out of nowhere, Friz was reported by a tier two journo (Issa) that managed to do a brilliant job to call it that early.

Doueihigate was leaked via Isaac and WT tried to wrestle control back via Nicolussi, whereas the Luai stuff really only broke ground when he was spotted at the airport and then when we killed his contract it was when it was completely done.

point is, whatever Richo did to plug the leaks in early 2024 has remained in place. the issue is when agents get involved.

Upgrade I reckon, speed has been missing from our backline for years, picture how far Skelton would have gone with that intercept.

Good churn in my opinion if he signs, Jeral is getting too big and slow for the backline, hopefully Schiller can defend better too, it wouldn't take much.

Yes .. the leaks from the club have dried up,,,, makes a difference when you don’t take the journos to boozy lunches when tongues might get loosened up over that 5th bottle of red .

As you said though … the agents are always talking to the journos … there has been plenty of rumours doing the rounds for a while now ( must be a couple of months) about Mann and Frizell joining … Averillo news was out a while too before being officially confirmed…. I don’t know about you, but I don’t take it as read until it’s official ,,,we have been burned plenty of times before with guys being “over the line” and then not coming
