One of Sydney's finest and most reputable drinking establishments.

Nothing to see here gents.

Re: Sue to dogs

Honestly, apart from Chee Kam he's been our best forward the past month or so. His runs are almost automatically 10m and more and he always seems to get a quick play the ball without being put on his back. His runs turn a set that might only make 20-25m to one that gets us 40-50m just from the momen...

Re: Ivan Cleary

He wants to leave, obviously.

Would we really be fighting tooth and nail to keep someone that wants to stay? You don't fight cooperative people lol.

I think Penrith taking on McQueen's contract and us getting 2 players paid by Penrith would be fair compensation.

Working it out with our backs

This is causing us so much trouble getting the out of our own end. We have had stretches now in the past 5 or so games where we don't touch the ball in the opposition half for up to 20 minutes from the end of the 1st half to start of the 2nd. It gets to a point where we have: 1. Thompson/Watene-Zele...

Lawrence needs to change his boots. He was killing, shame about all those slips.

Re: Nathan Cleary

Cleary and Brooks would work perfectly fine together as left half and right half. Cleary would organise a bit more and provide a great kicking option on the right while Brooks can continue to focus on his running game and be the kicker on the left. The issue is what to do with Reynolds' money. I hav...

Re: Wests Tigers Team v Cronulla

I think we'll do alright. If not for a few unfortunate moments and some awful refereeing, we would've won last week. I actually thought Taylor's service, apart from the occasional howler, was better last week. Reynolds is gaining match fitness and should be able to play 50 odd this week. We won't ne...

Re: Nathan Cleary

I don't see it happening. We're almost certainly letting go of Brooks if that's the case since I doubt we can afford Brooks + Reynolds + Cleary. I think he'll stay at Penrith.

Re: Huth

Exceptional defender but better than people like to make out he is in attack too. He's not a dangerous runner but still manages 8m or so per run, which isn't a negative, but it's his ball playing ability which is important. He's our best ball-playing forward and they're invaluable when it comes to s...

Russell Packer

He's been phenomenal as a leader and the way he's contributed in revamping the club culture is one of the reasons why we're sitting in the 8 right now with a bright future ahead. Defensively he's been stout and the way he scrambled on our last defensive sets vs. the Dogs today was admirable. I am ho...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

If Woods did come back in it, I think it'd be at the expense of Chee-Kam or Taylor based on the current starting line-up. I could see this shift:

8. Packer
10. Woods
11. Lawrence
12. Taylor/Chee-Kam
13. Eisenhuth

14. Twal
15. Matulino
16. Aloiai

Re: Don't love the change at fullback

I actually thought he was ok. Obviously had that howler, but felt he ran it back strong and was a constant threat on overlaps. He finally seemed to show a bit of that burst in his first step he had in his Warriors days and at stages last year. Can easily get on the outside of his man and set-up the ...

Re: Noffo

Was excellent. Can't understate how important he is in getting the ball out of our end. Made 10-15m on the majority of his runs and that gets us on the front foot for a set. It's the difference between kicking from our own 30 to being able to put up an attacking kick from their 40m line.

Re: Hooker position

Our attack is sharper with Liddle - he provides the best service by far. Reynolds service isn't very good but he definitely brings energy and another ball playing option if he shifts out into the backline for set plays. I think Taylor can't play at hooker anymore as long as those two are fit. I thin...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

Mbye would be a good fit at fullback - better than Holmes tbh. We lack creativity. Reynolds & Brooks project as our halves pairing for the next 2 years, they're ball runners & good in support play, not very creative. Mbye would give us a creative option at 2nd receiver that we lack (and tbh would be...

Re: Cleary - One Home Ground..

I actually think if we don't get the CoE at Concord, next step would be to redevelop the stadium itself, upgrade the stands and have it ready for NRL level. The Tigers are the inner west's team, and Concord is smack bang in the Inner West and a middle ground for both Balmain and Wests. Wests Ashfiel...
