Re: NRL Announcement

I'll make this my last post on the subject, as I don't want to keep arguing with fellow Tigers fans, especially ones whose opinions I value. I sincerely hope that this is an honest mistake and we get cleared of any wrongdoing, I'm just extremely skeptical of that as the way this has played out look...

Re: Greg Inglis to retire in 2020

What hole? When you can answer why Simona was never charged with match fixing sensibly you will have your answer... You must have missed my reply to Steve. I conceded if you don’t want to classify it as match fixing, fine. The crux is he was still attempting to sabotage games, while wearing our jer...

Re: NRL Announcement

I have no idea how people can say we've been treated fairly. The club has been categorised, sanctioned and are probably being investigated similarly to the clubs that paid multiple players under the table. This totally negates any claim the NRL are acting impartially, IMO. They have not been sancti...

Re: Greg Inglis to retire in 2020

Who cares? Players are not supposed to bet on games they are playing in. Second point - much more serious (not really related to football, just on this occasion) he ripped off charities - should be banned for life just for that. Yes! - back room boys rip off charities (even places like Oxfam take 1...

Sorry should have been at end of this.... year. So we can punt him.
I don’t see why there would be. We signed him for 3 years. So unless he was to get a contract in the ESL at the end of this year (which I think is doubtful) we’re obligated to him for this year and next year.

Re: In 2019 West Tigers Goals

Garner outperformed him in ISP last year. McQueen was awful and almost seemed to be taking it easy. There was no intensity in anything he did. Was always a risky signing in terms of giving a 30yo a 3 year contract, even before his neck injury. Would hope that there is an option in the clubs favour ...

Re: Greg Inglis to retire in 2020

Are you trying to argue that he did not place bets on the players he was marking? Or are you arguing thst even though he did, there is no eveidence that it did affect games? To which I would say, it doesn’t matter. Even the intent to sabotage is just as bad as it would be if he succeeded. Not sure ...

Re: Greg Inglis to retire in 2020

We’re splitting hairs now. He was determining the outcome of aspects of the match. If you want to call that spot fixing over match fixing, fine. The crux of the matter is he deliberately went out there in our jersey and sabotaged games. That is undisputed. When did he actually sabotage a game thoug...

Re: Greg Inglis to retire in 2020

Definition of match fixing: the action or practice of dishonestly determining the outcome of a match before it is played. Where is the evidence that Simona did this? Note that a player betting against his team isn’t even evidence of match fixing... it is motive, but not evidence. Ryan Tandy example...

Re: Greg Inglis to retire in 2020

Because he gave away the penalty and was directly involved in the betting sting of other people on that game and received cash to do,,..Simona was never charged with Match Fixing by the NRL or the courts..never received cash from outside parties to influence the result of a game..he was just an idi...

Re: Greg Inglis to retire in 2020

Who cares about Simona. He was fixing games while wearing our jersey. Drawing a long bow bringing him into it. Who cares about Simona? Obviously not the NRL, he was turfed out with no 2nd chance. Whereas "GI The Untouchable" is mollycoddled, hailed as brave for admitting to drink-driving and given ...

Re: Player you're most looking forward to seeing in 2019?

Garner for me. This guy reminds me so much of Beaver Menzies. Tackles hard, runs great lines and good speed for an edge backrower. He could be anything. He’ll be hated and labaled a plodder 6 rounds in. It will happen, gaurenteed. Eisenhuth was pretty popular when he debuted if you can believ...
