Re: Tim Simona

What a way to ruin his career and his reputation. I always considered him one of the best guys in the game. Met him a couple times and he was the coolest guy. And as a player he was underrated. It’s a tricky one. While in society, assault is much worse than match fixing, players who have committed ...

Re: NRL Announcement

Has anyone heard whether the club/Pascoe are going to defend the NRLS accusations, thought there would be some info by now I assume they'll probably take the full month to pull together as much info as they can before executing the defence. Speaking of which, grubby play by greenturd to do this ove...

Re: Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

Re: NRL Announcement

That's the word, " intent". Without it Pascoe was stupid, with it he was dishonest. Pretty much the same as premeditation is the only difference between murder and manslaughter. I trust Pascoe and think he simply tried to bend the rules rather than break them, and would not have been put in that po...

Re: NRL Announcement

We have an obvious risk of Pascoe heading to another sport if he is stood down. The bloke isn't going to sit on the sidelines for months and let his family starve. It's not the same as say flanagan, as pascoe skills are more transferable. I just hope marina comes up with a good plan for the worst ca...

Re: NRL Announcement

Yes but the NRL has Rule 91A (1) which says that 'any termination agreement with a player must include any future employment at that club or any other NRL club' Will be interesting how the tigers argue this as it could be debated that it's unclear whether it's only employment offered related to the...

Not sure that it is fair that Wests and Pascoe cannot meet to co-ordinate their defence.
100%. I'm not exactly sure how the NRL has the power to mandate things like that. I suppose it's easy when you both write and enforce the rules.

Re: NRL Announcement

I have absolutely no idea and I'm just guessing, but I wonder if the tigers submitted to Ayoub a letter of offer to employ Farah at retirement. For Ayoub, that is good enough to lock the tigers into an agreement without his clients signature, but to the NRL, it's a letter of offer which is probably...

Re: NRL Announcement

all in all, i don't buy the whole "we were mean to you so here's 639k from an organisation that hasn't profited in 20 years" It's clear he's a crowd favourite. It's not gifting the money. Robbie would add value in bringing in corporate revenue. Or increasing our brand, which might bring in more mer...

Re: NRL Announcement

Well done on Robbie for the article and its great to see some support from the media coming out emphasising how much pascoe has not only improved the club, but the NRL as a whole. You don't kick out these good guys improving the game unless your absolute sure it deliberate. I don't see that. The onl...

Benny Elias - once loved - now despised. Germ.
Love a bloke who introduced the guy who created the end of the balmain tigers thinks he knows best about selecting management.

He's got to take a good long look in the mirror and think about who is really being laughed at.

Re: NRL Announcement

I wouldn't be so quick to paint Pascoe as the innocent wronged party. Maybe the punishment is draconian but you don't get these kind of punishments for sloppy paperwork and/or misunderstandings. There must be a reasonable amount of evidence to support both the accusations and penalties. Don't think...

Re: NRL Announcement

What other occupation do you get to keep your job after trying to conceal a $700k (not sure of the amount to be honest ) payment from your bosses / head office ... sounds like he could be lucky not to be charged with fraud A) He didn't try to conceal it as evidenced by the media articles. B) Usuall...

Re: NRL Announcement

I hope the telegraph get onto the member sentiment. Look, the club did do something wrong here, but the NRL have completely ignored so many things 1) intent. It's not clear that anyone truely believed this should be reported. By the openness of this in the media would conclude that it was only a mis...

We could use Robbie in front of a camera right now to angrily explain how this was in no way tied to his souths departure or return.

Re: NRL Announcement

I'm up for a rally. I understand if this was a repeat offence as in the case of flanagan, but for a club who has turned around and respected all the NRL policies (to the point of going beyond them to better communities) this is just a slap in the face. It's not even a clear cut case of salary cap ro...
