Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

Wayne in 2020 for me too. We're not in a gf winning position next year, so I would wait for someone who will bring the $s and the players and provide a better long term result for the Tigers. Get rid of Cleary and bring in hodgo. Would be an amazing story if benji, Robbie and hodgo can get us to a f...

Re: Kelly Egan new General Manager

Sounds like an oxygen thief. If this was a bank he would have been speared ages ago This is what I don't get. You don't actually don't know what he does, yet are prepared to label him an oxygen thief. It seems to me some people are happy to throw a dagger in preference to giving someone the benefit...

Re: For all the people moaning about signings

I agree with the OP. Holding 2 spots when there was no decent talent left on the market last year worked out very well for us. Not sure why so many people are up in arms. Sure, we could try to move on blokes like McQueen, but that's not an easy task. There is a significant advantage tactically in se...

Re: One Home Ground

I agree that the number of LO games and CSS games will be the same amount, thats why I dont like the idea of even one game at LO. Three home grounds in one city just doesnt make sense to me. It dilutes any advantage. They could have trial games there. I don't think they're considered home grounds a...

Re: One Home Ground

No to Campbelltown from me. Area is not supportive enough as a crowd. No to Leichhardt from me. Area are now under "the Chardonnay set" umbrella - good percentage of crowd are just curiosity seekers for a spiritual experience. WSS is the way to go - we'll know more after this next season. Still wou...

Re: WT Player Retention/Recruitment/Loss List

Unless we offload any players, I think carrying two spare spots into the season is smart tactically. We picked up Mbye for a reduced rate due to another clubs mistakes, as well as having enough room to bring Robbie home. Unless a player is the ideal signing, or we can swap out say a McQueen, then we...

Re: First look at Concord Oval revamp

If the Tigers don't have to tip in any money for the actual build and they have that further State Govt grant (as well as the WT Foundation $$), we may have one heck of a fit-out.

Pascoe helped deliver Penriths COE. I'm sure he'll be working hard to ensure our facilities are just as good.
What was did role in that?
I couldn't say the specifics, but he was in senior management at the Panthers when it was delivered. CCO and then 'head of NRL'... whatever that means.

So I imagine the club will need to find temporary office and training facilities whilst the COE is being built. Had anyone heard where?
I was thinking that too. Wonder if homebush is an option?

Re: First look at Concord Oval revamp

It will be interesting to see what funding if any came from us and what we are getting out if it. Timeframe aswell, 2022 as suggested by a poster seems long. Seems a bit long. The Knights coe is starting building next year and will be ready come 2020.. I don't think they have as many complexities w...

Re: First look at Concord Oval revamp

Hats off to Pascoe. Hopefully, the $30mil will be topped up with some expanded facilities as there is the additional State Govt grant and I thought a contribution from PCYC (and probably us). https://www.weststigers.com.au/news/2017/12/19/wests-tigers-centre-of-excellence-funding-announcement/ This ...

Re: Tigers set to part ways with Cleary and seal Bennett deal

So what if Ivan coaches the Panthers in 2021,as long as he professionally coaches the team and continues his great work that he has done so far at this club until his contract is up,is all we can ask....calling him names and the like wont really make a difference if he is still here and doing a goo...

Rothfield tweeting now that brooks didn't deserve the award amongst a couple of others. What a douchebag

Can't the guy let these players enjoy the moment for a second. What kind of self centred person does that.

The kid is decent, but pretty happy with how Brooks has gone this year and behind a pack that wasn't going as well as the Panthers. Surely we'll be talking extension for Brooks now? Of course, lets hope the eye hasnt gone off the ball in this regard. Loved that marina mentioned how important brooks...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

The COE will only bring us into line with other clubs, it wont be some huge advantage. Fremantle in the AFL have a new COE whch is regarded as the best in any sport in Australia, they still cant make the finals. The losing mindset needs to change. I agree, won't be an advantage. Put's us on even fo...

Re: Signing Suggestions & Rumours THREAD..

Was watching controversy corner last night and the Nathan Cleary stuff came up. The comment was made “why would he go to the Tigers, who have nothing, when he can stay at Penrith with all its facilities and huge junior breeding ground.” Probably was Elias - the white ant. I've got a lot of faith in...
