Re: Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

Change of subject somewhat, but is anyone else getting unsolicited text messages from Clive Palmer's UAP? How the hell did they get my number? In any case, his campaign sounds too much like Trump for me to take him seriously. God knows one of them in the world is already one too many! Funny how eve...

Re: Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

So who gets to decide which public events politicians should and shouldn't be able to attend? I would have thought it was the electorate, who can vote the pollie out if they disagree with their choice of public events. And on a side note, if pollies paid their own travel expenses, or were given a $...

Re: Tim Simona

Just a quick note that the NRL has precedent when it comes to punishment for betting against your own team, which is Ryan Tandy (RIP). He was also banned for life for betting against his own side. Although the circumstances indicated that he may have altered his performance (which he denied) to faci...

Re: Tim Simona

Everyone will have a different opinion on whether he should be allowed back into the game at some point, and there are good arguments both for and against. Realistically it should come down to whatever the NRL's stated policy on gambling was at the time Simona went off the rails. If the rule book sa...

Re: More bad behaviour

Always best to wait for the actual details before slandering a guys reputation.

No one knows what actually happened, but it's obviously cool to pass judgement without having a clue as to what really went down.

Re: Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

To everyone piling in on Col with the snarky comments, his global freezing comment is actually true. Between the 1950's and 1970's scientists were warning that global cooling was going to herald a new ice age and kill us all. Oh, was it Scientists or the Media who was talking about Global Freezing?...

Re: NRL Announcement

Pascoe should have just covered up one of his star players bashing his missus ... instead of being de-registered he would have been promoted to NRL CEO.

Woops!

Not sure where your getting this from. On average a Chinese person now has the same carbon footprint as a European citizen. So no, our footprint is not worse, unless you are comparing us to African tribesman who spear their dinner and wash their clothes by smacking it on rocks down at the river. Is...

Wow you're thicker than i gave you credit for . I'll write in short sentences for you. You're arguing against yourself here. I said none of the things your writing about above. You obviously don't fall into the double digits category. I'm actually feeling sorry for you at this point. The moment has...
