Re: NRL Announcement

I don't think the other Clubs went cap in hand to the NRL asking for Cap relief for their players claiming they were destabilising figures...only to promise them jobs after footy.. If that is true is was pretty Suss from the outset Very easy explanation - destabilising on-field as a player, not off...

Re: Wests Tigers sign Laurie Daley to coaching staff, new mentor for Luke Brooks

Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire has reached out to good friend Laurie Daley about coming on board at the joint venture as a halves consultant. While far from a done deal, Daley's input would be priceless for the likes of Luke Brooks, Josh Reynolds, Benji Marshall and rookies Jock Madden and Tomm...

Re: NRL Announcement

I don't think we could take the NRL to court for their claims that we broke the salary cap. That's the NRL enforcing their own rules, nothing to do with the legal system. I thought the premise of taking the NRL to court was to do with Pascoe, because they labelled him a cheat, a deliberate cheat, a...

Re: NRL Announcement

Thats the best news of the whole damn story. Brydens WOULD NOT get involved unless they thought the case was a simple one to prove. Even more so a simple one to prove in a court of law and to hold the NRL to account. Just like Phil Gould and the Cleary thing they thought we would just fold and go a...

Re: Wests Tigers sign Laurie Daley to coaching staff, new mentor for Luke Brooks

I see it as a proactive move and it sends a good message that the club is not wallowing over recent less than positive events. Daley might not be well regarded with the punters but within the game itself it appears to be quite the opposite.

Re: Wests Tigers sign Laurie Daley to coaching staff, new mentor for Luke Brooks

Welcome to the Tigers Laurie .. maybe he owes us one since 1989 .. !! I'll reserve my opinion of him since I planted one or two on him in a night club (Kingo Hotel) here in Canberra back in 91, after a slight altercation between he and I .. !! Hmmmm ... He would be facing the integrity unit...

Re: NRL Announcement

I really dont think drug/alchohol issues are any more prevalent these days with young people than they were in times past. It is just that we are more aware of it due to the level of media we have access to these days and we have a much larger population. If anything young people are generally far m...

Re: NRL Announcement

There is a difference between being a destabilising player and an ambassador several years later. I see no connection Agree - especially when the other person who was instrumental in the cause of the destabilization is long gone. It is really not too difficult to understand given it was well docume...

The club has mounted what they believe is an unbeatable defence & have complete confidence we will get our CEO back !
But if the result don't work in our favour then legal action will follow.
Excellent news.

Re: NRL Announcement

but, but, but...................... What did Greg Inglis say? GI’s first thing was to apologise. He said he was embarrassed and sorry for his actions. Your decision to give him a character reference for his court appearance last week for drink-driving charges didn't go down well with other clubs .....

Re: NRL Announcement

You back your club in this situation. They have stated their position. It makes no sense to me why anyone would support, accept, or defend the actions of the NRL based on the reaction of the club who currently feel they have been harshly penalised. It is not about the breach, it is about the penalty...

Re: Greg Inglis to retire in 2020

Second chances are given to players that are desirable to clubs. If Tim has got enough interest from clubs he should get his second chance, and based on the history of second chances given by the NRL - if its a fair system for all and he is reformed and "appolgetic" - he should be entitled to it.

Simonas problems resulted from addiction to gambling/ drug taking. It was well documented that he requested advancements in his salary in attempt to manage his addiction. Gambling on the NRL is promoted without much consideration about the victims of gambling addiction and how it can destroy lives a...

Long may it hold footy games for the converted, and for others who appreciate and can see value in preserving some of the traditions and simplicity of the past.
