absence for attacking footy makes the heart grow fonder for it.
Bring back the earlier years of Teddy, Moses, Moltzen, Brooks, Simona… it was good but we still mostly had more losses than wins. Hope now with good defends like Papali’i , Klemmer, Api, Bateman the balance is better.
Very handy player to have in your squad. Can play both 2nd row and at centre. He looks to have a got a starting position at the Panthers (good on him). I don’t think he would have mad the starting side here.
From the SMH
There have been plenty of big-name players making big-money moves over the summer. It’s the ones that don’t cost a lot that can have the biggest impact on a club. Michael Chammas runs his eye over the top 10 value signings of 2023.
1. J’maine Hopgood (Eels)

Stefano, Pole and Blore now having Papali’i , Klemmer and Api (all very good performers in 2022) to show them the way. I’m not so confident about the backs.
So much change from 2022 to 2023 (thank-god) Things will be different. We’ve actual purchased good performing players. Not just those who “have potential” or are coming off injury.
What are the odds we’ll hear this on ABC grandstand. Woods offloads to Musgrove who is tackle & plays the ball. Liddle to Mybe, passes to Suli cuts out B.M.M who sets up Nofo in the corner. fantastic try. Brilliantly coach but Griffen.
A million-to-one?
If Bateman isn’t ready to start. Blore might be at RHS 2nd row and Twal on the bench.
*not sure who is next cab off the rank after Blore as a edge forward.
We have increased the amount of strong defenders in the side. Our two new 2nd rowers are both defensively strong. Also Klemmer and Api in the middle as well.
*Note; Nofo most likely will still be chasing butterflies out there on the wing.
Article - Inside the Tigers’ ‘attacking’ revolution... and ‘incredible’ Benji factor.
From Foxports
Wests Tigers fans can expect to see shades of 2005 this season.
Not only is Tim Sheens back at the helm, but with the help of the legendary Benji Marshall, he’s in the process of transforming the...
I think it’s too early to tell but if Doueihi’s defence improves and he shows he can ignite the background then he’ll be a very valuable half (maybe too valuable in terms of $).
Money aside, Moses at 7. Brooks or Doueihi and 6 & 14. Brooks could cover D.H. As well.
Dreaming really, I could see...
good NRL halfbacks are very hard to come by. Moses is at least a top 8 halfback, we haven’t had one of those for some time. If we signed him for 5 years (which I think is too long) after a couple of years I think there will be other bottom feeding teams desperate enough to take him off our hands...
Doesn’t sound like Api, Papali'i, Brooks will be playing in the NZ game. according to Sheens , Bateman won’t play either trial. https://www.weststigers.com.au/news/2023/01/27/coaching-insider--field-day/
We have the forwards. Need a good half. Moses is the best of the available options and junior halfbacks need years developing even after they have debuted.
a good crop of young forwards coming through, obviously not all will make it as regular first graders. Although Sheens is the type that won’t die wondering. If they show promise he’ll give them their chance. Exciting times ahead.
