    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The impact of the entry of the Dolphins into the competition is being felt. There are simply not enough high end NRL quality players available with more clubs competing for them. Managers are gleefully taking advantage of the state of the market. The Roosters, who are reliant on poaching the...

Just on 9, the tenures of the contracts of Galvin and Strange were mentioned. It was in the context of Manu leaving and Fittler mentioned the Roosters will be on the lookout for a 5/8. I think the father of Strange works at the Roosters.

TEAM LIST Round 16 vs. Raiders

Next year when Luai and Turuva arrive he will be far more effective in attack as the opposition will have more players to concern themselves with in defence. Also if Matamua can impove his game he will become another attacking point for WTs.

The haves and the haves not. With the Panthers, we have taken a few of theirs and they do produce a lot of juniors so if they get one back that is part of league. The Storm and Roosters have a huge advantage in that they are not required to fund and organise junior leagues. They can simply...

The irony is what would he be doing if not playing football?

To a degree but he has also been renumerated extremely well. If the club's reported offer is correct, they view him as a leader, albeit a young leader. Are the comments he made reflective of a leader? Some have mentioned Pole and I offer the view he has been a far more consistent performer...

Flanagan has moved some of the training sessions to Kogarah. Seems to be a retrograde step.

I recall the club received $150k each game for playing at the ANZ Stadium. If we still receive this money it is lot to forego for simply having one ground.

It could also be his manager advising him to go to market in the hope a club will pay more than our offer boosting both the player's account and the managers. Managers are like real estate agents, they want an auction for the client's services.

I'm not into the LO v CO discussion but context is important. LO has been scheduled with the out of Sydney teams and still pulls good crowds.

True but providing girls and boys with opportunities to play league in inner city areas is not shifting AFL.

Good post. No doubt we have work to do but it is good you have acknowledged the Canberra trio are not juniors at all but have been trucked in from the Central Coast, Newcastle and Wollongong to be put into the very good Raiders' system. Galvin, Mason, Miller, Da Silva and co are all our...

    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Thanks for posting this advice. Melbourne is a great cultural and sporting city. The Storm while achieving very good results on-field, have failed Melbourne and the NRL. Providing opportunities for both girls and boys to play league shouldn't be that difficult, especially in the more central...

    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Melbourne is forecast to have a larger population than Sydney by 2031-32. The NRL should ask hard questions of the Storm about what the club has done since 1998 (over a quarter of a century) to increase league talent in Victoria.

When managers received EOIs from other clubs it reinforces the incorrect belief that there is an easy out of the contract to allow the player to sign with another club to get what the manager/player want.

I'm pretty happy where we are at with regards to our juniors. We seem to have our development team working hard to identify and secure our youngsters. Not all players can play junior reps and often in many sports being selected is not always about skill. Miller, Galvin, Mason etc are...

I read on this forum both Bellamy and Bennett had chased him more than once. They see what our club saw in him, a very fine footballer with very good skills who does need conditioning.

If we want the kiddies (boys and girls) to support and play for WTs, we need to encourage as many young families into our grounds, especially at CO. Offer $10 or $5 family passes and you will soon fill CO. Entertainment for families these days is often unaffordable, so WTs can make it...

This is a very interesting comment from Carrigan noting Cobbo is part of a very strong NRL team. Imagine being a youngster at WTs like Bula in the demanding position of fullback. The 26-year-old Carrigan said up-and-coming stars like Cobbo can find it difficult coming to terms with the...

Attendance at GPS schools requires pupils to make themselves available for RU. You are correct about talent scouts being interested in our juniors. The more the NRL turn a blind eye to the behaviour, the more it will occur. Time for severe punishment to be delivered imo.
