Interesting how character gets revealed. Both Ice and Stef knew pretty much halfway through the season they were moving on. Ice actually had a real dig and played some of his best footy for us in the back half. Stef completely bottled it. He might be a talented athlete, but he lacks heart, and...
I sometimes get sucked in to reading the first few lines of his columns. When I realise it is mostly dross and drivel, I check out who the author is and sure enough, Dane Eldridge. Time you will never get back!
You need pressure for spots in the NRL team. Ideally, every guy picked in FG should feel pressure from someone in a lower grade to perform each week to hold their spot. There has been precious little of that over the past few seasons. The flip side of that coin is, when you finally get that...
I would go with Hetherington. Hungry for a first grade starting spot and would work his ring off to secure it. Plenty of upside in him and would be good value I expect.
I think with a guy like Royce Hunt in your interchange, then Klemmer is more than serviceable as your first grade starting prop. Solid, reliable, makes his tackles, makes his meters.
He is an absolute windbag and a bore. A complete sook.
JWH has the worst judiciary record in the comp since Hoppa yet he blows up when he has someone go down injured.
The Roosters are a blight on rugby league.
He looked like he was carrying a bit of spare timber to me. Some players don't need to be built like Tarzan to be effective. Not sure if he is one of those guys that looks unfit and unathletic but has a motor on him. Fifita was a bit like that. Royce Hunt on the other hand always looks gassed...
Boo hoo Roosters. $1.5 of their official cap on the sidelines ($2M unofficlal.cap). I am sure they will manage OK. No doubt just go pick the eyes out of a club that actually develops playing talent. They are a parasitic club, always have been, and bad for rugby league.
No one should be above scrutiny. The problem in this case though is that the ones doing the scrutinizing / interviewing BOF are completely out of their depth and under qualified for the offices they hold. If you check out their profiles and professional backgrounds, there is not much firepower...
Good they got a statement out, but you might think someone would proof read it carefully enough to get the date right. Last I checked, it is 2024, not 204. That's back when Emperor Marcus Aurelius was playing at halfback for Leichhardt Wanderers.
Real professionals. Attention to detail matters.
We have seen what happens with the supporter base when clubs that have been in the doldrums come good. Take a look at the Bulldogs this year. Hottest ticket in town and the Bankstown area buzzes every time they have a win. If Tigers start to go OK next year, watch all of the supporters get...
I was / am a Balmain Tiger's lifelong supporter. But Balmain's wounds are all self inflicted. You can blame HBG and dark forces on the Magpies side all you like, but the controlling stake was gift wrapped to them through the completely inept financial management of successive Balmain Tigers...
Completely agree. And include some people who have been really successful in other parts of their life who are passionate Tigers supporters. Problem is, people who are reaaly successful, don't want to be associated with a group who are more broadly consdiered a bunch of muppets. Can you imagine...
