I guess Doueihi is in limbo, position wise with us atm. IMO: If Moses or another halfback comes, Brooks goes to 5/8 and he becomes a centre that can fill in for injury in the halves and maybe at fullback. If we don't sign someone as halfback, Brooks plays there and he (AD) plays as our 5/8...

RTS would be my preference for 1. He is proven at NRL level in that position. Welsby might be a Tomkins...world beater in SL, not so good out here.

I was hoping that we'd win our two trials and the preseason comp 100K. Could have been used to buy Mitch a new car, to replace the one he got from the Parra sponsor.

I'm feeling quietly confident about our chances this year. I think 1 to 7 will go better than expected with the quality we now have in 8 to 13. Even our bench should be okay, with those spots now occupied by our previous starters and depth behind them. Hopefully with success comes extra 3rd...

Most pre-30 footballers are high risk, high-reward types though; Moses would be. I can see the risk of injury being front of mind for 30yr+ players, but for the younger blokes, the reward (potential) outweighs the risk.

Why would he rush? He has a contract for 23 already. Come mid season there could be more suitors, if their current halves fail to fire. He might also be waiting to see if Parra's predicted fall will happen or not. If they're still up there, might convince him to resign. Also, if we get off...
