Well he’s 2 points of the lead so yeah it’s not a massive call.

Yeah we’ve just had a logjam in the halves unexpectedly and spectacularly clear up. We don’t want to go back there. As it sits things look clearer with Luai and Fainu as first choice halves and Doueihi as support. We just need a solid NSW Cup guy or youngster as well. Maybe that’s Mason.

    Heath Mason #288

Personally I think he’s some ways off being an NRL 6. His junior background I believe is in the halves but I’d have doubts he’s there even in attack/organisation for first grade and his defence certainly isn’t. I’d put him in the good prospect rather than prodigy class. I’d much rather see him...

Well as of now that hasn’t happened and the story has been widely circulated. I’m inclined at this stage to think it’s more true than not.

He’s got good footwork and a decent passing game. Against that he’s terrible under the high ball and questionable in defence.

I think he needs more time there in the reggies. I think he’s a good prospect but I’d rather AD for now.

Sounds like a sensible and thoughtful attitude. Compare and contrast…

Not holding my breath but nice if it happens even for 2025. Tell LF he’s got a long future here and to concentrate on getting healthy and developing his game.

Second row in NSW Cup. He’s cheap enough we can afford it unless someone makes us an offer we can’t refuse. Initially I was happy enough for him to be used as needed but he’s starting to give off Jackson Hastings vibes.

I wonder if O Large got an out written in his contract over there like he apparently wanted here.

A lot of us have been critical at times but we’ve had 6 games do far and we’ve won 3, lost another two on penalty goals and were competitive in the other. As you say, Benji is a respected figure in the game and for a team that’s collected three wooden spoons in a row we’ve looked much improved...

I’m not sure how he does that given he’s basically said he doesn’t think the coach is good enough.

Use him as we need him rather than how he wants to be used. If that means centre or second row when Fainu is fit and 5/8 when he's not, so be it. Gloves are off and there's no point trying to butter him up anymore.

Wow there's a lot to unpack in that SMH article. Seems odd that a young man a handful of games into his second season of top grade football thinks he's able to judge the merits of a coach who's basically been involved with the NRL for over 20 years. There's some not overly subtle suggestions...

TDS hasn’t been moping around since his debut about releases and assurances on playing time. I’m hopeful his outcome will be a lot better for us.

I’d imagine the Dogs offer was considerably more than what the Magpies could offer in those troubled times. Galvin is pretty much saying your tinpot club isn’t good enough for me.

The club’s statement basically says that. His people weren’t interested in negotiating. The tone was “you guys couldn’t write a contract big enough for me to stay.”

I think your comments in the other thread are spot on. You pick the best team including Galvin but all things being equal you’d favour the guy who’s sticking around.

What we can do with allocated dollars for Galvin

Yeah I checked. Aside from one week where he clocked 18 minutes you can pretty much set your watch to the Api/TDS split. Always 23 minutes!!

I wonder if the ARU have an interest. His style of play would probably go well in Union.
