Thank you to all the roughly 500 people who have signed the Wests Tigers Unite petition in the past 24 hours or so. We now sit at over 1050 signatures!! As we know, the Mayor of Inner West Council, Darcy Byrne has now said he is also concerned about the governance of Holman Barnes Group (HBG)...

I don’t think concerned, but I do think we’re being monitored.

I doubt Darcy comes out like that without thinking there really is something there to be concerned about.

Sadly I think it will be manipulated to strengthen the anti review mob.

The three that have been booted ALL unanimously supported the implementation of the review findings. Those who voted to be rid of them did not. It is that simple. And no Wests Tigers fan can do ANYTHING about it (except sign the petition and back us in our fight).

I’m not advocating for NRL ownership or private ownership. I’m more than happy for HBG to remain majority owners. But their governance and the influence unelected debenture holders have over Wests Tigers needs to change.

The trio were informed of their punishment on the evening of New Year’s Eve. Says a lot.

Entirely how I feel. Wests Tigers success is everything we’re striving for. It has categorically and emphatically nothing to do with burying or erasing history of foundation clubs. It is present and future focused.

For sure, the review is just about the governance of HBG and our concerns about how a registered club controlled by a group of individuals not democratically elected can so heavily influence the direction and management of an NRL club.

Nothing is stopping anyone from being a Magpies fan, they play at Lidcombe oval every fortnight. But don’t critique or criticise people who love Wests Tigers.
