Taking a wrecking ball to the club! (Recent Media Reports)

Guys, anyone who says this is about Balmain or anything related to Balmain is categorically wrong. As much as I loved that team and club, for the Wests Tigers I’d shoot it between the eyes. The club is already dead to me.

Can’t knock him for having a go, but he should stick to the bass 😂

OFFICIAL Wests Tigers Unite: Call to Arms

We are primed for success because we have capable people now working in the organisation (they are there now because we had the guts to stand up and be counted in the 2023 review petition), the board structure and governance in the upper hierarchy remains archaic and dysfunctional and that’s why...

OFFICIAL Wests Tigers Unite: Call to Arms

I think what’s really become clear to me in recent days, despite what looks like the vast majority support for the Wests Tigers Unite petition, is that there are still a collection of Wests Magpies and Balmain Tigers fans who have not fully embraced the Wests Tigers. When push comes to shove...

OFFICIAL Wests Tigers Unite: Call to Arms

This morning we sit at just over 670 signatures on our petition for a review into the governance of the Holman Barnes Group (HBG). Thank you very much to everyone who has supported this important action. Here are some of the comments left by people signing the petition this morning: I’m over...

You would come to a quick full stop (again showing the issue) because I doubt Romero and co would vote for you to join them as debenture holders. Or, get elected through the members and Romero and co could drum up some thin accusations against you and you'll be out. Seriously, this is what we...

And therefore, the current 4 debenture holders clique on the board - Romero, Burgess, Montgomery and Tropiano are all powerful.

My understanding is that...how can I put this...of the 18 some aren't actively involved any longer.

Completely correct. As the WT board currently stands, of the four people, two are debenture holders who were never elected, (most likely) never had to pass any due diligence or skills matrix, and are not answerable to anyone at all. That, to me, is not a good situation for the Wests Tigers.

Correct. A pool of 18 people who were never elected by members take 5 of 7 board positions at the HBG.

OFFICIAL Wests Tigers Unite: Call to Arms

    1. Debentures are thoroughly undemocratic and a closed off form of governance for a licensed club. 2. It has nothing to do with old loyalties, it is 100% about Wests Tigers. For the record, personally I would happily let Balmain die today for a better Wests Tigers. 3. A perfect example...

Taking a wrecking ball to the club! (Recent Media Reports)

This is not about Magpies v Balmain, it is about professional management and proper governance to give our club a chance at sustained success.
