    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I really liked the Adel podcasts. Don't have patience for the others, with the call ins and the general chats and bloated banter (sorry noble podcasters!) but I thought rob and Adel had good amount of analysis without fluff. Is there anyone else doing a to the point analysis of games?

    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Watching the end of nrlw yesterday and Noddy seemed really passive in the crucial last minutes and a bit awkwardly jokey with the players in a David Brent sort of way. North sure if he's any good as a coach but just didn't strike as highly engaged.

    3-2-1 3 2 1 vs Manly

I commented on this in the live thread. Yes, too much. But he is just knocking opposition down and doing what he likes. He was so dominant today. I want him to just run straight more often but he's just not that sort of player and as long as he's knocking people about he's having a really...

LIVE GAME Round 24 v Manly

Thoughts from the game... We looked dominant after that first try. Real physical, three players in the tackle. The may and fainu brothers are so good because they're so physical. It makes such a difference. Terrell May probably circles around and passed too much but he is fantastic. He was so...

LIVE GAME Rd 24 live chat *Spoilers*

Galvin had his problems with us and didn't improve this year, but he was much more threatening as a wide running 5/8. The halfback role never seemed a good idea. Doesn't have pace or a kicking game and not an organiser. Not sure what they expect him to do at 7.

Two Bulldogs players with much worse high shots than seyfarth...no sin bin. Go refs!

So hard to know who to go for. Better for us if Bulldogs win, but everytime Galvin touches the ball...

    Benji 2025 and Beyond

I still feel Benji has not improved the fundamentals of strength in the tackle and line speed, and so lots of questions about his effectiveness. But. One thing not mentioned much is our lack of injury toll. There's a bit of luck in all that obviously but so many seasons have been severely...

TEAM LIST Round 24 vs Manly

Just getting in on the anti-woke stuff...I understand where people are coming from with criticising these gestures. I guess the main interest from the NRL is revenue raising. Women of league and indigenous round allow for merchandise and media attention and work to build their inclusive less...

    Team v silvertails

Thanks to this thread my family got excellent tickets to this game! As a season ticket holder I assumed this game was excluded like the magic round match. I should have read the details more closely. We didn't receive any email information about the game or ticket arrangements. But thanks to...

    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Besides us actually winning more than two games in a row, the round 25 results we need with Manly beating the dolphins and the Eels beating the Roosters look particularly unlikely. The rest of the results (excluding our own games) wouldn't really be upset results.

    Adam Doueihi #227

I was thinking about it and he's made a lot of sacrifices by staying here. At st George he'd have a much clearer path to either a halves role or at 13. They're pretty weak across all those positions. With us he's accepting, it seems, a utility role with no guarantee of position anywhere. Shows...

Can either of them put in a big physical tackle? That's what the side needs from forward signings.

LIVE GAME Round 22 v Bulldogs

I don't usually re-watch games but we don't often win these sort of games. Some observations... Biggest thing was physicality of Sione, Samuela, Taylan in defense. Twal had some decent contact too. Not sure if Sione has enough lateral movement at 2nd row but he really toughened up our defensive...

    Brent Naden #256

That's really poor by Naden, and I hate when players have a go at another team's fans like we did today. I always prefer to celebrate rather put other teams down, and to me that looks extremely immature and a bit pathetic. But I dunno, young people these days seem different and showboating and...

LIVE GAME Round 22 v Bulldogs

I was loathing the prospect of this game, had no excitement coming in through the pouring rain. The dogs fans were incredibly loud at the start...credit to them. But though we didn't play perfectly it was really physical play, particularly in defense. I still want to see the forwards running...

LIVE GAME Rd. 22 discussion *spoilers*

He had good games for us too. His problem is that he doesn't have these sort of games very frequently. In fact, the last time he made origin for us I remember he came back in similar sort of form to what he showed last night. But yes, he played very well.

LIVE GAME Round 21 versus Panthers

Twal needs to run hard and straight. He's one of our typical players in that he folds when the going gets tough. He's massive and yet he runs sideways with twinkle toes. People blaming the backs, and they were average, but we were strangled as a team. Penrith transition so quickly, everyone is...

    Jock Madden #244

Thanks for the summary, I liked everything except that last sentence. I think if he's replacing Latu in the halves then we are in big trouble. Latu is the best half prospect we've had since Benji, if he can't stay in that position for us then something has gone wrong. I agree madden is a solid...
