Spot on. Some guys just take longer to develop and gain confidence. I thought Matamua played well in reggies every time I seen him. Seyfarth was also a slow burn but gets better with age. It always blows me away the amount of people wanting throw 20 / 21-year-old kids out of the club because...

Good post. Never underestimate our youth. An 18 and 19 year old were our best players last year. The 3 you mentioned need to stand up and show Benji that they want to be picked. Lets hope all 3 have big off seasons.

SO has this been a successful season now???

Agreed. On an individual basis, I think most players improved under Benji. You could see a continual decline in performances under Madge but to be fair to Benji I think most guys got better. When you play 35 guys in first grade for the year it's hard to get the continuity in their performances.

He is a bit light on but still growing. He runs the ball with purpose and it's not all about size these days. Guys like Cotter (cowboys) can be affective and have played in the front row. I'm starting to worry about the big guys in the modern game, its getting too fast for them.

All three need big preseasons. I'm tipping Faagutu to debut this year in the front row.

It’s concerning when a 18 year old kid (Galvin) is the fittest in the club during pre season. The bar needs to be raised this off season big time right through the grades.

Yes I did watch NSW cup and the bloke is a yard or two off the pace. The original question was whether he will play a lot of first grade this year. I don’t think he will. The bloke needs to get first grade fit. There is no doubting his talent but he’s not ready yet.

He is a long way off first grade mate. He is still struggling to keep up in reggies. Now we have Royce Hunt in the team he won't be getting a look in as we can't have both in the team at once. I hope he proves me wrong though.

He needs to get fit first.

Might be a lesson for our youngsters to keep at it and rewards will come. Might be a lesson also for our club to stop throwing talent away if they haven't quite made it yet.

Who in the club has allowed Large to negotiate whilst being under contract. If we get nothing out of this I give up.

Who's to say the HBG have been given the nominees for the board from the independent recruitment company and they don't like what they see.

SMH Article 'We’ve lost faith in them’: Balmain consider shock exit from Wests Tigers merger

Until we have the ability to vote on and off the HBG board we will continue to go around in circles. The fish is still rotting from the head.

SMH Article 'We’ve lost faith in them’: Balmain consider shock exit from Wests Tigers merger

If my memory serves me right, no one got rid of anyone. The directors rightly stood themselves down as a recommendation of the review.

SMH Article 'We’ve lost faith in them’: Balmain consider shock exit from Wests Tigers merger

So what's the holdup. Surely there has been ample time for recruitment by now. It feels like the HBG is still pulling the strings in the background. Even if these 4 directors are appointed, who has the power to remove and / or vote in a new director in the future.

If these so called 4 independent directors are appointed, who has the power to remove them if they are no good. More importantly, who is appointing them?
