    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Keppie is purely speculation based on a report about Souths potentially moving him on. He's not a great player. But he is a massive unit. With over 100 games at NRL level. Who averages 85m a game. Taller than all but Sam Fainu, bigger than all but Royce Hunt. In a team that gets bullied far...

Wests Tigers Deep Dive of the Week

Not sure how you measure it, but the club has massive issues counteracting momentum. I realise ALL teams have that issue, but for the Tigers, it feels like once the momentum is against us, our defence is shredded. Finding a way (slowing the play of the ball/leadership/winning the ruck) to stop...

Adding oversized humans to the roster is not always a bad strategy. There is a role a player like Keppie could play at the club, for sure.

Seems an oversight....Vegas is played 23 days after Round 1 starts? AI, right?

    Investment Opportunities

Ok, so I'll start this by stating I'm certainly not very good with investment. Don't own a house or investment property. Just hitting 52 in April. Super is in pretty good nick since I've had it set up since 18. I earn well enough but child support saps nearly $15k a year. I'm thinking of...

I think both sides of the Richo argument have good points. Don't forget to factor in value when talking about keeping or losing players though. There was a point where Stefano & Galvin stopped being good value. They were not resigned. Previously, I don't think that would have been the case- we...

    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Given what is left available, Tigers should look at Mason Teague & Joey Lussick for depth. Teague could play #13 & #9 & Lussick could be a KOE deal #9 for added depth. Teague was linked to return to the Panthers, but signing the Warriors KOE #13 Goings probably puts a pin in that.

I think Twal 'stinking it up' is unfair. Twal played a very good Alex Twal type season. He's just not a passing option. He's more your Lindsay Smith type of player. I think the only real options are May playing as that first receiver, and in effect, pushing Luai, Doueihi or Latu wider &...

Trying to replicate a ball playing lock that is essentially a 3rd Half when you don't have a genuine player to do so could be worse than not having one at all. A little innovation could work. The Warriors KOE side ended up playing Freddie Lussick, normally a 9/13 as a front rower. Now, anyone...

    The Melbourne Cup

Middle Earth, River of Stars & at long odds Land Legend..

    Racing tips, talk etc

I've got Half Yours & River of Stars at the top, with Middle Earth & Buckaroo just behind them. Valiant King, Land Legend, Royal Supremacy & Pressage Nocturne are all in my equations. Obviously I'm not going to pick them all (outside of maybe picking First 5..) so looking at value, River of...

Interesting field for the Cox in terms of the Melbourne Cup Aeliana has had a good prep & a decent result in this would put it in some serious conversations for the Cup Treasurethe Moment has had an interesting prep lead up with some unusual choices for lead in races, but a good result might...

Good horse. Only 1 start in this prep though. Of the past 5 years, only 3 horses placed in the Cup on the back of 1 prep run. No winners. And that Japanese horse last year was a cracker. 9 horses have placed in the last 5 years off the back of 3-4 runs. Averages say you need the metres in the...

Really only the Cox, Moonee Valley Cup & Geelong Cup of any significance to run. And the Cox Plate hasn't been a great indicator for the Melbourne Cup lately. Barriers & conditions...jockeys...they'll all play their part. But what I've looked for, I've liked from those 3 in particular.

I'm happy Bird is staying. Thought he was useful when fit. Much better in defence than I expected. If he is on the fringes of 1st grade, he's good depth. If he strikes form- even better.
