    Coronavirus Outbreak

Another consideration, T5150, is the level of data gathering. If this is in fact a graph of side effects it may simply relate to an increased level of data collection. I've been having annual flu injections for the last 25 years and never once been asked to report on side effects, but, since...

    Coronavirus Outbreak

Are you sure that this relates to deaths? The chart is headed "Adverse Events" which, in Australia, is a reference to side effects, not deaths. (Ref TGA). Many side effects are quite mild. Also, do you have the total number of vaccinations for each of those years. The only way to really make...

    Potential Penalty Goal Mishap

I've got a really vague recollection of Kevin Yow Yeh scoring a try under the posts in the mid 60's, after a rebound from a penalty kick. From memory, the game was over and Balmain were behind on the score board. The kick missed and both teams started to leave the field - except for Yow Yeh...

    Coronavirus Outbreak

Wow! It certainly is a long read, but worth the effort. I thought that was a fairly well balanced article. Certainly raises some issues about the potential origin of the Covid 19. Thanks for posting it.

Looking for 2 Tix For Friday Night

I am in Melbourne. I've noticed that people in regional Victoria have been far more diligent in checking in. Melbourne? Not so much. Even in regional Victoria I have never had anyone ask me to show that I have checked in.

Looking for 2 Tix For Friday Night

100% correct mate. The QR codes were there to scan but most people didn't bother. That's changing now but, even so, I've never once been challenged to show that I've scanned or signed in.

Yeah, thanks mate. No active sites yet in my part of Melbourne, but still keeping my head down. A good time to do some home brewing.

    Coronavirus Outbreak

They are saying that it is the Indian variant which is more infectious than other variants. We know for certain that it is the Indian variant. I thought that it was broadly accepted that that variant was more contagious than previous variants such as the Wuhan and British ones.

    One home ground

The main problem that I see with that article (and others here have touched on it) is that it doesn't show causality. Even if the numbers were statistically valid (they're not, for reason already discussed) can you be certain that the location of the grounds are the sole reason for the poor...

    Coronavirus Outbreak

I read somewhere (sorry, I can't remember where) that Biden was shutting down an enquiry established by Pompeo because the terms of the enquiry were not open ended in regarded to establishing the source of the virus. The enquiry was established specifically to investigate whether the source of...

WA and Qld have now declared Victoria to be a "high risk" state. I'm thinking of starting up a petition down here to have that printed on our number plates: "Victoria - The High Risk State"

Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here

You're absolutely right CB. No different to the rest of society really. There is usually a range of different views and approaches on almost every social/economic issue. it would be naive to think that all aboriginal people shared the same view on how their interests are best served.

    Coronavirus Outbreak

I'm not sure whether it's broken on not. One individual travelled around for a week with symptoms and didn't get tested. That certainly won't have helped. He may have been the missing link in the chain. Two of the positive cases attended different AFL matches and that info has only surfaced in...

    Coronavirus Outbreak

ABC reporting that Melbourne is expected to go into a 7 day lockdown. The original source was an infection escape from hotel quarantine in SA. How many more breaches of hotel quarantine do we need to have before this issue is addressed with purpose built facilities? How much more damage to our...

    Coronavirus Outbreak

Absolutely nothing T5150. The hypothesis that the virus may have leaked from the Wuhan lab is a valid one to pursue. My comment in relation to conspiracy theories was prompted by your comment: "... there is no “smoking gun” and there never will be because the Chinese and those in the west with...
