    Finals Week 1 *spoliers*

That's how it looked to me too. I can't see how you could rule that as a penalty try, but it was probably a legitimate penalty for tackling a player without the ball. Given the timing, the game was already gone for Newcastle and the poor decision won't have affected the outcome.

Bad luck. You nearly got the double. They were both good games.

    Finals Week 1 *spoliers*

Nah! Knights to steamroll Parra then do a demolition job on Penrith the following week. We're Wests Tigers fans. We believe in this sort of stuff. No problems.

    Finals Week 1 *spoliers*

Your absolutely right hank37w. I reckon we get our money's worth out of being Tiger's supporters. Can you imagine being a Storm supporter? Thirty to Nil ahead at half time and you're already flicking through the TV guide to see if there's anything good to watch afterwards. But as a Tiger's...

    Coronavirus Outbreak

I love the way that "Opinion Pieces" are now labelled "Analysis". Anyway, here's some "Analysis" by Laura Tingle (ABC News) of recent decisions taken in NSW around opening up after reaching vaccination targets. Worth a read...

    Finals Week 1 *spoliers*

Geez mate, given the finals line-up, I love that you're throwing your lot behind Knights and Titans. Only someone with the optimism of a dedicated Wests Tigers supporter could do that. I take my hat off to you. Personally, I think that Melbourne will prevail yet again.

Don't feel too bad about that, mate. Everyone struggles to use Mygov. If it was a commercial website they'd go belly up in the first month of trading.

Might even get down to, "You show me yours and I'll show you mine".

    Coronavirus Outbreak

That's interesting. Thanks for that. IN NSW the government is the insurer for all workers compensation. The insurance companies involved only act as agents for the government. But premiums are calculated for individual employers taking into account the cost of claims lodged against that...

    Coronavirus Outbreak

I hadn't heard that but I'm in Victoria, so I'm assuming that's only in NSW.

    Coronavirus Outbreak

Thanks. That makes a bit more sense. I think a worker who was double vaxxed would have a case against an employer who was failing to check vaccine passports, if that worker was to contract covid. However the common law rights of workers have been severely curtailed by most Workers Compensation...

    Coronavirus Outbreak

What are they doing about compulsory vaccination for employees? Is there any point in restricting access to vaccinated customers only if unvaccinated employees are allowed to turn up for work each day?

    Coronavirus Outbreak

Yes. You make some good points there. I probably am over-simplifying it. I do think though that they were being tight arses. They thought they would get away with a cheaper locally made option when a prudent decision would have been for greater diversification notwithstanding some redundancy...

    Coronavirus Outbreak

Actually T5150, I think it would have made more sense to hedge our bets. All vaccines were unproven at that stage, so trying to back a winner was never going to be a great strategy. It would have been good management to diversify and purchase adequate supplies of multiple vaccine types. The risk...

Chammas airing our dirty laundry... again!

What a load of rubbish. The only part of that report that purports to come from the "review" is the three lines contained in paragraph 3. Everything else is either old news or pure speculation on the part of Chammas. Our chairman's response was basically a "no comment", which is exactly what it...

Snap. My son picked up some unopened oysters this morning. We're teasing them open on a low lit bbq and knocking back a couple of Guinness' with them. Life's a [This word has been automatically removed] they reckon!

    Coronavirus Outbreak

I didn't see the NSW press conference, but the ABC is reporting the four deaths and saying that none of them were vaccinated. If people have had one shot, they usually say so. Did your info come from the press conference or somewhere else?

    Coronavirus Outbreak

I think the problem is that the Doherty report is being presented to us as the holy grail, the way out of this crisis. (There has even been one poster on here who has basically said that it is "science", and cannot be challenged, and any attempt to do so is politicising the Covid crisis). I...

    Coronavirus Outbreak

Too true. I don't want to be sick (from any cause, but particularly from one that might kill me) and I don't want to be passing sickness on to others. I feel like it's about taking every opportunity to lower the risk. I'm really looking forward to lockdowns ending, but when they do I'll be happy...

    Coronavirus Outbreak

Wow! That's really convoluted language. Do they mean that they're going to check what's actually happening over the next couple of months against what they said would happen and then make an assessment of the accuracy of their forecast models?
