    OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

He looked great playing 65+ minutes in almost every game this year, he's got elite cardio. But I agree he also needs better support and game management.

He’s a gun forward, and he will only get better. My concern is our defense, that’s been our achilles heal, keep a team under 18, you almost always win.

I don't deny that, but if you look at May's stats and rating he could be even better in the next couple of years. Back our boys not the Broncos.

If Charles won a championship, anything he says would actually count. Larry Bird has 3 rings, Barkley - Zero.

    Jersey Talk - Mega Thread

What tha? Surely we’re not designing this gear ourselves, that has to be in house with Canterbury Sportswear. I bit my tongue over the training jerseys, but this is going from bad to worse.

That deserves the full Rick Roll. If only Pascoe had the same attitude!

Wests Tigers Deep Dive of the Week

@Tucker made a great point about why the Lions lost against us, it was poor defence. It's the same for us. If we can keep teams under 18 points, we have enough points to win. It's our defence that's the main issue.

    OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

Just my thoughts, you're entitled to yours. His stats this year don't lie though. Tackle Breaks: 69 Average Running Metres: 166m Total Running Metres: 3,984 m Average Fantasy Points: 73.1 In April 2025 he averaged 176 run metres, 76 minutes played per game, 37 tackles per game. He is ranked...

    OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

I see it as going back to study for Jarome. Benji has his own curriculum, direction, and game plan that need to be learned. My thoughts aren’t based on his on-field performance, but rather on the distractions we had with Lachlan, Isaac, and Gus. In the end, footy management is also a chess game...

    Vale John Laws

Love him or loathe him, Laws was part of the old breed of arrogant broadcasters, just like Alan Jones. Unfortunately, we still have people like Kyle Sandilands, who show little respect for others. Hopefully, the shock jock culture will end soon.

AD will be at lock next year imo, with Twal rotating to prop off the bench. Imagine Luai, Fainu, and Doueihi firing on all cylinders, with Bulla sweeping in (if he stays), that’s a dangerous ball‑running spine with forward creativity, which Twal doesn’t offer.

    OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

We already have a few $1.2m+ players in the NRL, but the future stars who I think could reach that mark are Jonah Pezet, Latu Fainu, and Hugo Savala. All are young rising stars, and if they can fully own their halves roles, they could be part of the next wave of future champions. Marky Mark...

    OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

I think that Jarome found it really hard to lead us in what was a very different system from his time at the Panthers, winners are grinners, and winning is often a snowball that keeps on growing, adversity is often difficult but resilience is the key, now that Galvin‑Gate is over I predict him...

    Rugby Union

Yep, agreed, but union will always be seen as a white‑collar sport, backed by the old boys with money, league will always be a blue‑collar game for the working fan, so the dollars don’t translate. Even Suaalii’s contract, $5.3 million for three years, with a two‑year option taking the value...

    Rugby Union

Australian rugby is cooked, that loss to Italy was woeful. I’m a big Woodies fan, grew up in Glebe, then Eastwood. If R360 are going to raid our stocks, we should be doing the same and targeting GPS and Shute Shield players. Suaalii came through the Woods junior system, and there’s plenty more...

    2025 Kangaroos Ashes Tour

It’s because football is so dominant, and you get paid so much more if you’re a superior athlete. Hopefully, with the NRL taking a stake in the Super League, that will change.

    2025 Kangaroos Ashes Tour

I agree, I also think that they should have a yearly competition with tier two countries like Wales, Ireland and France to build the game in Europe and identify new talent. There grass roots programs just aren't working. We did that with our pacific tier two neighbours and it's been brilliant.

    Nostalgia

My good mate Justin Rosniak was in the original Cottee’s TV commercial - 10 seconds into the commercial from ’88. He’s played in a heap of great Aussie movies and TV shows. Some might remember him from Packed to the Rafters and Mr Inbetween.
