You would hope they put some kind of performance clause in these contracts

Without doing the research my guess would be that most clubs carry at least 2 Fullbacks in their top 30. This should not be seen as a threat to Bula (I doubt he would see it like that), but an exercise in building out proper depth in the roster.

Find it really hard to believe they have simply walked away from 100s of thousands of dollars.

Agreed Vicious he would be a huge help but a million is too much

Thoughts on the centre depth Jolls? Feel like we need another option there for To'a coverage. Unless the plan is for Bird and Doueihi to provide it.

His transformation has been strange. He always struck me as a fairly quiet and humble guy at the Tigers, now he runs his mouth in the media any time he gets a chance.

I think you are underestimating the impact yet another rebuild would have on our ability to recruit. They will put their interests first (when it comes to contracts etc.), wouldn't you?

I missed the part where the "entire" forum has piled on. He has his right to his opinion and I do appreciate the passion but its a forum for people to discuss things and ideas. If you are going to ad nauseam state an opinion that doesn't make sense, or is just contrary for the sake of it, there...

poorly worded on my part. I see limited benefits of a contract of that length for both parties over a 3 year deal. i think a deal around that money for 26, 27, 28 with no backending but the opportunity to renegogiate and extended in 2027 for 28 and beyond would be the best outcome for all. I...

No, no you don't understand. The forum logic is that if you get rid of Luai and Bula you now have the money to get Cleary and Walsh... thats how it works right?

Yeah I don't really see the benefits of a 5 year deal for either party currently

It would be uncommon for a player to sign such a long contract on a pretty average wage for a starting player wouldnt it?... especially a Moses client

He looked good at times, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't describe him as a "very good first grader" yet. Not sure who's choice is was to move him on (whether him or the club), but he probably would of played 15-20 NRL games with us this year and fair chunk last year if he had stuck it out.

It's a shame one-dayers are getting swallowed up. That was a more skillful and entertaining game than the majority of Twenty20s.
