I believe Hunt is on $425k per year.

No. SOO payments don’t count against the cap. It’s only when club contracts include bonus clauses for players who make SOO that those payments from the club count against the cap.

This is it. We will now have Bud back for the next two years and he probably won’t be ready to start the season next year with his broken leg. Or he will at least miss the offseason. This club can’t catch a break.

Given our pack is quite weak I’d be happy with a lock that can win the collision in attack and defence and play bigger minutes. As opposed to a “ball player”. Let Luai and Latu play both sides of the field and pass to each other to get the ball wide as opposed to the lock to the split half (one...

This is great context and I agree. The rest of the story is to be written depending upon what we do with the cap space and roster spots.

I did wonder about this. He’s been shooting the lights out apparently and has played first grade before for Souths. I wonder if he’s a direct swap for Skelton or will go on the other wing with Turuva going to fullback.

If this is a bad injury, like 12 months out, you can get your bottom dollar he’ll be coming back to the tigers next year to collect his $500k and take up a roster spot.

He just did his ACL a couple of weeks ago didn’t he?

    Benji 2025 and Beyond

Ben Ikin once said A people hire A people. B people hire C people. It’s obvious which one Benji is.

    Benji 2025 and Beyond

There’s no reason we couldn’t hire a current first grade coach we like. Penrith signed Cleary away from us. Dogs signed Des away from Manly. Those roles were far more attractive than ours though. The reality is we will need to take a punt on either an out of work former first grade coach or an...

    LIVE GAME Round 17v Manly

A lot of people on this forum noted how old and ordinary this Manly pack looked. But they have absolutely dominated our pack.

I think we now have evidence that Luai is in fact earning his $1.2m per year.

@balmain boy is correct. Our juniors aren’t good and are in fact far inferior to the bigger clubs like Roosters and Bulldogs. Roosters have a couple of 19 year olds who are killing it. For example, Blake Steep.

Agree. If he was smart he’d stay and learn. I didn’t see anything special.

I compared LG to Hastings when he was still at the tigers. And this forum shouted me down. Now he’s at the dogs, that’s what everyone hopes he ends up as!

Mikey Nasser, a Balmain junior, confirmed as having moved from Roosters to Bulldogs in the last month. Apparently two other clubs were interested in him. I wonder if we were one of them. Perhaps @ROZELLE.O.G could advise?

Was just about to say the same thing. He would be my preference. Can do 25 minutes at hooker but also is big enough to play in the middle. He carved us up one game when he was at Souths. I’ve watched him for years. He never gets as much praise as he deserves.

Will someone post the first grade team? Only change is Bula out and Sukkar in, although a lot of positional changes from last week.

Under more fatigue, created by the length of time muscles are used, there is a greater risk of straining/tearing them. They are limiting Latu’s minutes to prevent his muscles (hamstring) fatiguing to the point where it makes it/them susceptible to re-tearing.
