Supporter pressure brought about the review. HBG took over 12 months to implement the key recommendation, the appointment of independent directors which only happened after further action from supporters. HBG then started to act to undermine the full implementation of the recommendations...

No, as we had mount pressure to get them to implement the recommendations. They then refused to implement the final 2 recommendations. A couple of months later they ripped out the key recommendations by removing the independent board members.

HBG had a majority on the board, they were in effect the same entity.

What I can attribute to them is the infighting and dysfunctional behaviour that has made our club a laughing stock time and again. Tge serious governance issues that the review found were attributed to HBG as well.

Its quite clear that they weren't mate, Benji references it the press conference announcing his extension.

I met Richo a number of times, I don't think he is a guy I'd ever be mates with but he was the hard nose that a club with a history of being walked over needed.
