It seems to be the strategy across the league right now. Extending reliable squad players on long-term team friendly deals before they get offered overs to go to Perth or PNG. The reality is that we probably won't be able to make many external signings (of note) as Perth and PNG are always...

Appears as though Manase Fainu has been released from Jail. Hopefully this has a positive impact on the brothers.

Sione is the most underrated player in our squad. Played all 24 games last season and I never heard anyone once say he had a bad game or let us down... 400k is unders. Still only 24 and yet to hit his prime. Not to mention the value of his signature in securing his brothers.

Are we signing Joel Moon?

Yep, its crazy the expectations our fans have and the unrealistic expectations they have on young players, especially guys 21 and under. 95% of NRL players don't hit the ground running and most of the ones that do are older or the exception to the rule. Most of our fans would say our best...

Luke for sure. Fans are way too critical of Luke. He’s still only 19 years old, most players don’t even debut by 19. Even though he wasn’t a standout he did manage 5 tries in 9 games. He has been moved between centre and wing even though he came through the grades as a fullback. He’s one...

Because every team looks to buy cheap good quality young back ups? Does this really need explanation?

Yep, and It’s always a club he’s got heavy ties to, either through the coach (Flanno, Seibold etc) or major player client (M. Moses). Even the Galvin situation, everyone including the media were convinced he was going to the Eels and even IM told the Eels he was going there until Galvin and...

The fact Bula has been linked with the Dragons makes me more confident he will stay. Clearly IM wants more money out of us so he’s throwing the Dragons to the media like every other player that’s been available the last 18 months.

Also very very interesting that the two reported favourites for the Chairman and CEO roles were Isaac Moses people (Elias and Mestrov)…

I think you will find that the NRL threatened to take the license away from HBG if they didn’t get their act together and re-instate O’Farrell.

I hope HBG try to re-establish the Magpies as that will be the trigger for the NRL to revoke their license and take control of the club. The NRL will never allow the return of the Magpies or Balmain. How HBG still operate with the muppets they have is beyond me. Taking Balmain away will remove...

No. Would you take career advice from a 20 year old?

Played better than Patrick Herbert last year, and there are plenty who believe that’s a good Cup signing? Very strange decision to not keep Naden on a cup contract and instead go for a guy who hasn’t played for 3 years and has a poor injury history. Even stranger that the young guys like...

Wouldn’t read into that at all. Richo isn’t going to come out and tell the media, rival teams etc who he is targeting. He’s smarter than that. Keeps the attention off us and on others.

I doubt we will carry 3 props on the bench as I expect either Latu or Doueihi will be on the bench and come on at 13 and take those minutes. I also prefer Terrell and Pole as a tandem, and Twal and Royce as a tandem. One worker (Terrell and Twal) and one hard runner (Pole and Hunt) each on at...

You would also hope/assume Sione and Pole make significant progress over the next year given their age and experience level. They’re getting into the years where props start to make that jump to the next level. Assuming this happens Terrell, Pole and Sione have the potential to be a top level...

Would be great as a 13. Covers backrow and front row also. All depends on price really.

Herbert wasn't up to NRL standard 3 years ago, hence why he was released by the Titans and not picked up by any NRL teams. If we think that a guy who wasnt up to standard 3 years ago and hasn't played since is pushing for a NRL spot, we are in serious serious trouble.

They were all un-signed at the end of the season so would have been available to sign T&T contracts. Herbert seems a waste to me. Theres the point that we can sign as many T&T players, however I would hope that Herbert isn't prioritised over the development of Max Taotua or Tino Tavana...
