My memory of what it was like when Benji and Robbie had a group of players around them that loved the jersey and represented the club well, didn't want to leave the club, played for less money - labelled a boys club - I say bring back the Boys Club.
Hard to get too thrilled about Frizell. Cheap short term deal. Could prove to be handy without making any significant impact. Don't see any danger - retirement is the outcome if he gets injured.
Just my own opinion - regardless of results I don't think you will see any infighting from HBG, no moving of head coach, CEO, or board members until 2030 - and then who knows.
The Eels never seem to have trouble recruiting even though their results can go from decent to the cellar very quickly. They do however have a great facility to play from strong supporter base huge leagues club and a presence in their community..
The players that we would like to see the club target are also targeted by other clubs and leaves us with few other options. Can 💯 guarantee that the players Benji would really like to lure have options elsewhere and when it comes to selling this club to any player with ambition we don't have...
The whole NRL is a "boys club". You move on coaches because they failed not because they have a perceived relationship or connection to a club. Every club is littered with ex players in coaching mentoring roles.
