I think that try right on half time pretty much killed it for us. We would still have been on the game, if it hadn't been for some ordinary defence, at that point and thereon.
I think Ivan's expectations are in line with were we are..he is been around long enough to know that in this rebuilding stage. Being above more fancied clubs like Manly, or the dogs, is in itself some achievement.. What may be happening here is that the hunger we as fans have to make the finals...
At speed, I thought it was close to a coat hanger..in slow mo, though, looked like a strong tackle, so a penalty may have sufficed..This said, Sam and bros thread a very fine line between a good hit and a vicious one. IMHO.
But great to see Robbie back on his feet at the end of the game - player...
lost all structure, got injuries, Canberra have scored 200+ points against us in the last 5 (?) games, wingers smiling coming off the field, no leadership/direction in attack…Robbie come and save us :crazy
Who is going to turn this "ship" around?
Unfortunately, whilst our defense has been good, in patches, I don't know where the points can come from - we just don't have a game breaker and as someone already said, enthusiasm can only take you some of the way before reality sets in.
1\. Scrum feed to the Sharks in the second half - unless Reynold did try to strip the ball, but if so why would you even try it?
2\. Gallen try - embarrassing, but we needed Lolohea to put his body under the ball, which he didn't do;
3\. The kick from Brooks in the second half. Look at him...
On that last penalty kicked we missed, started waving what looked like some sort of red towel - surely the ref should have seen that. A lot of players do similar things (walking, waving arms, standing crooked a la Price) but I've never seen one that blatant! Should have had the kick retaken.
Oh...
with not catching the ball from the kick off? Honestly, last night I had to hold my breath every time we scored a point and they kicked off…I get trapping it with your feet, taking a few steps, but not going for it at all? Was a worry!
Special mention - the Aboriginal dancers...gee they all...
I think we still quite haven't got that ability to pin a team on their line and get repeated sets toward the back end of the game - Luke Brooks getting caught in possession is an example of that.
Kick it, chase it and we pin them and most likely win the game. It's a fine art, but not one we...
Don't want to start the bagging (….) but quite frankly on today's performance, I am scratching my head as to what role he plays in the team. I don't see him doing anything differently to what he has done in the last 18 months?
Honestly, if you were to believe the "experts" no one gave us a chance, although some claimed some curiosity about how we'd play (a bob each way, I guess..)
