He'll bring the experience we need as a counter balance to the exuberance/unpredictability of our youthful (other) halves. This is a similar signing to what we were hoping to get from Anasta. Experience and a calming influence. In a perfect world, he plays the Reynolds role. We won't...
I am feeling more excited going into '24 with Fainu, Sezer & Sullivan than I was going into '23 with Brooks and Douehi (with Wakeham added late). Sure, we all would have loved Munster and/or Moses to sign, but the excitement of youth should make us all eager to see where we can go next season!
How did it work in the days before there was a top 30? When first grade had 2 fresh reserves and 2 from reserve grade (or lower) sitting on the bench, hoping for a run in the top grade. Were they just signed to the club? Any limit on numbers? Why can't we go back to that? If we have a cap...
Luai is a proven winner. Signing a game changing, key half would be excellent. Assuming the signing is for four years, I would rank the top 10 halves this way. So DCE, whilst better, only has 1-2 years left, you would think, same with Reynolds.
1. Cleary
2. Munster
3. Luai
4. Hynes
5. Moses...
I'm torn by this. As a Queenslander I want to see NSW stink, but I'm also a fan of Madge and want to see him succeed. Damn it....couldn't the Blues just have reappointed Freddy or given Joey a run?
True, but he is a large lad and was hard to stop when running with a full head of steam. Wouldn't cost the earth and had a bit of cult status happening.

For next season I like Billy Smith from the Roosters. For '25, I like Best, Iro, May, Te Whare and our own Tupou.
How can an average player, in a team running as poorly as we are, be considered as a good pick up for us? The Dragons are spoon favourites next season, despite us "winning" it two years running.
I am also pleasantly surprised and more than a little amazed that this thread is still "live" at 100 pages. Well done for keeping things relatively calm in here!
I am surprised that neither the NRL or AFL got Midnight Oil in as their pre-game entertainment. They could have worn "Yes" suits, similar to their "Sorry" ones they wore at the Olympics. Seems like an opportunity missed by the codes, who are both pro-yes and the Oils....
