How do you know we didn't make an offer? If Lomax is so good, why are St George letting him go early? There must be an underlying issue and there are 15 other clubs also not signing or having signed Lomax this 2024.
You make an amazing number of assumptions here, no wonder you are so defeatist.
I agree - so far 2024, when "bad" has not been as bad as previous years. I haven't seen the team drop its head yet; we are very willing in the first half and not giving up silly concentration points either side of half-time. The line speed is improved and the effort in defence is much better...
I don't see a lack of effort at all - he's always present where the ball is, always attempting decent line speed. He just doesn't seem to pick his moments properly, like he's half a step behind the game every week.
So he'll pull off a really nice tackle early in the set, then find himself on...
Even someone like Francis Molo has stepped up a gear, he was pretty impressive in the opening salvos.
Personally I wonder if this might be short-lived for the Dragons, with some ordinary footballers being pushed to perform at a higher level. For example, realistically how long does Moses Suli...
"Aloiai hits it up, offload to Paseka... Paseka stands in the tackle, handballs to Lodge, Lodge to Nathan Brown... Brown dummies, gets tackled, palms off to Wakeham... run-around with Brooks, cut-out to Talau... and Talau knocks it on, oh looked promising for a moment there for the Manly...
Ironically for the airport line the connection to Campbo is straightforward - just get the train out to Leumeah and wander across the carpark when you get there. So moving to Kingsgrove actually made CSS far far easier to visit.
But it's a fair train ride so that wouldn't be true for someone...
I'd much rather the current situation of Bud/Fainu as the second-choice halves rather than Brandon Wakeham. Sezer hasn't got years left in him; even if Bud is a backup off the bench it's still a good option to have a genuine half in reserve.
My personal experience is the LR is superior to the bus, and the bus still exists - whereas in decades past it was bus or nothing.
Standard city bus holds 80 people rammed, whereas standard LR service holds 272 full. And that's 272 in either direction (city or Dulwich Hill bound).
I find it...
Having to go to Central is a silly argument - most folks need to go to Central to connect to alternative services because there are insufficient North-South connectors in Sydney's public transport strategy.
For example I used to live in Kingsgrove just near the train station. Easy 20 minutes...
Staines to his credit kept tackling Sivo on exactly the same spot on his thigh... must have given him a deadleg.
But also Sivo, for such a physical weapon a few years ago, has totally lost his power/aggression component.
I think one of the issues here is that it's a highly disputable moment with no time left to play and the bunker is not at all involved.
Maybe the NRL should do something about that, where you don't need to have a captain's challenge available for the video to double-check a point-scoring...
It was really nice for the whole game the Sharks probed the edges and Tigers held their width / trusted the inside cover. We don't normally have two halves that can both defend reliably all match.
And the wingers stayed wide, no Nofo-style charge-ins if Sharks started to stretch us.
I will...
I don't think it's about Lomax's calibre, it's about him being disgruntled with the club and the positions he is being asked to play, and Flanagan not putting up with crabby players.
