It's time to take the fight back to HBG

That's a fair question mate. Should have been locked in upfront.

It's time to take the fight back to HBG

It sounds like a storm in a teacup to me from Darcy. Just negotiation.

Maybe they should increase the debentures to a $1m buy-in.

    OFFICIAL Jayden Brailey

I know Richo removed the board members from the selection committee, maybe they found their way back. That said, I actually don't mind this signing. Has leadership qualities taht we need, being an ex-captain of Newcastle and gives us depth in a position we need. As long as it's at the right...

    Samuela Fainu #280

The good thing is that the tax free element mostly advantages those on the top pay packets. Like the blokes signed already. If youre on an average wage, its not much extra given progressive tax rates here. So they may have a hard time signing younger talent.

Blame Darcy for that one. I hope he contractualised the rates or purchase price. Otherwise the developer will probably take them for a ride.

It's time to take the fight back to HBG

Can hope. If he can change the board back to the review-recommended approach through nothing more than winning hearts and minds, we need to build him a statue. Richo used the leverage of his own appointment, given his standing in the game, to make it happen. Shaun doesn't have the same leverage...

It's time to take the fight back to HBG

Yeah, 100%. Shaun is playing it right for the given situation. The only way that HBG will be removed is through us fans and external pressure, not internally. Richo already tried to get them to do the right thing. Look where that ended up...

It's time to take the fight back to HBG

Yep - already miles better than ours. https://perthbears.com.au/perth-bears-inaugural-board-announced/. Was handpicked by the NRL. Shows the potential when you can go external

It's time to take the fight back to HBG

I don't think thats achievable or where we want to land. I always remember nick P coming to hug the players after a roosters gf win. He looked very close to them all. Shaun is 100% right that it needs to be one united club, top to bottom. I just don't think he can get many to respect the top in...

Wests Tigers Private Ownership is that the Answer?

Used to work for federal government, so yeah. The line agencies typically help draft or push for the legislation.... and yes, you can rewrite laws if you don't like them or dont work effectively. That's exactly why laws are rewritten or amended. There are hundreds passed each year. Sorry for the...

Wests Tigers Private Ownership is that the Answer?

100%, but what a significant drop in attendance and viewership would do is put the pressure on the NRL to do something. Wests ashfield members are also frustrated where their money is being spent. Those two places are where the money comes from. Can't beleive these guys get to spend it with...

The argument for fully embracing the Macarthur as home for the Wests Tigers.

Or maybe be a smarter man and don't perpetuate it.

The argument for fully embracing the Macarthur as home for the Wests Tigers.

Come on man. You're not helping. HBG directors are a basket case, but there is no question about them helping Balmain (I think the liabilities far outweighed the assets), and the magpie on the sleeve 100% deserves to be there. Wake up and start fighting the fight that needs to be fought. Not...

It's time to take the fight back to HBG

Yeah, thats a fair pickup. I actually didn't know that. But with HBG as a controlling interest on both, they can still make the same call. I don't think all clubs are setup like the dogs.

It's time to take the fight back to HBG

The only way we can truly make it happen in a sustainable way, if they aren't willing to do it themselves, is to make the directors accountable. If they actually feared losing their position, they'd stack the board with people more capable than themselves and fund the bejezzus out of us...

    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

They don't need to say anything, the players and managers would see it happening. Nick P & Bouris have the perfect avenue for post-career employment with both car sales and financial advisory. We finally had someone of that ilk on our board, Charlie, and then decided to blow it up.....

It's time to take the fight back to HBG

Far out, why does this always devolve into a magpies thing? There's no need guys. While I understand the bias on the board, which is a problem in itself purely on time wastage, it cheapens any message about needing skilled, connected and experienced operators at the helm. It's incredibly dumb...

It's time to take the fight back to HBG

Its not just the voting. Its their level of involvement and guidance to the strategy, their connections to improve sponsor revenue, impact our media image, provide life after footy options for players etc... but its also the culture they bring > One of unearned entitlement does not set the right...

It's time to take the fight back to HBG

The football club has borne the responsibility over the past 15 years, nothing has changed. HBG directors have been the only consistent factor and hold the only power. The independents are lame ducks. If you take the time to look at their experience/connections and consider what they have done...
