That's true. It's up to the club to get sponsors , members/ game day income and merchandise to make it profitable. I think they need to address that before asking for grants. Everytime a new club comes in we're just getting further behind.

To be fair, I've been to cup games prior to the NRL game and there's also only hundreds, not thousands there. The hour between games for the NRL team to warm up kills the chance of any decent size crowd..

Lidcombe is joke. They need to be playing as many games as possible at Campbelltown. It gets ignored enough at an NRL level they could at least show some interest at Cup level. I really hope PVL brings in a national reserve grade comp

I dunno, he called them generous on a few occasions. In his recent podcast he seems to think that you should be able to run a successful club considering the size of the NRL grant. I just think asking for money from the owners is just lazy when they can be generating more income themselves.

Our coaching dept definitely lacks, but we made a profit last year.. Maybe the budget was in terrible state that Richardson had to beat back into shape.

The difference is that they generate that income. Their owners, shareholders, get dividends. They arnt digging into their pockets to give the club grants. But they are a club that plays at a modern stadium, not 16k grounds. We refuse to compete with the big clubs and most of our fans agree...
