      @The_Patriot
Please re-state your point then, I must have missed it.
Sounds like alot of hot air to me.

His point is simple. He wants Maguire to drop all our underperformers but, for reasons not yet explained, does not want to suggest who they get replaced with.
Also, anyone who does not subscribe to this half written essay, is a defeatist not worthy of an alternate opinion.
As for me, I like the coaches idea of sticking with and working with the players that in his very experienced opinion, thinks are the best of the bunch that we currently have available to us.
      Simple

      It is pretty simple.

My point is not that so and so deserves to be promoted. My point is that if we keep rewarding mediocrity and under performing players we will never get anywhere.

      Its not that complicated.

Reality is that Maguire is new to the club, he has a little more patience than some of us and hasnt seen this all before. He will learn.

Guys like Brooks, Mybe, Mahe, Marsters, Jennings etc will not be at this club long term if they keep playing how they are playing.

      Pretty simple.

      They aimed up last night.
      Coach showed faith…
      Pretty simple

      Yep fantastic.

I wouldnt have given some of them that chance thats for sure.

My issue still remains with a few of these guys who do not know how to play good consistent football. Why do they need to aim up, thats because at some point they have been disappointing.

I wouldnt mind seeing it every week like the good players at the good clubs. If we get that then all is good. Its a work in progress. Some of the subtle positional changes the coach made sure did help.

Well thats me discussing the issue, over to you to find fault in it and have a go at it again.

      Hi…
Agree with all you said… But CB was on the money… Stop playing the victim every time someone quotes you… Why do you need to make it about you?

I knew I wouldn’t get a response back just discussing the topic.

Well… When you continue to make your posts about you… Well… Whaddaya expect?

lmao, oh yeah, it was about thirty metres out or so, maybe a little off to the side of the posts, and it would have levelled the scores (again, this was after the 2 golden point wins to canberra).

Then Campese went down injured, right when he was attacking our line. His leg went like a sniper had got him. Maybe it was that sniper that should have got Chicka’s leg 20 odd years earlier.

Fonua - I feel like he gets the least respect from the tigers fans. He has been great.

A good summary hodgo. I particularly agree with your point above re Fonua.

True fibro, but let’s see if it actually does get addressed this week or not. I’m betting it won’t be and we’ll just carry on with the same set up, expecting a different result.

Brooks always seems to get the ball off a slow PTB. Whenever there is a quick PTB, Farah takes charge and either runs it himself or gives it to a forward.

Every half good play the ball should go directly to Brooks. If he can’t play off that then go 2nd receiver.

Brooks, his short passing and his pace is still very underutilised.

That being said, Brooks with whatever he’s gotten has been underwhelming. Needs to try harder, get more involved.

Ok thanks Geo, That would be really helpful.
I seem to remember we had a 3,2,1 points thread and a 3,2,1 discussion thread at some stage. Now I understand why.

      @jirskyr
I can absolutely brush the Dally M aside.
The voting is a joke. Until it is fixed Dally M will remain a farce.
By the way, Brooks was given all three points vs Broncos. On our 3,2,1 he wasn’t even in vast majority of the scores. I wonder if Gary Belcher even watched the game.
Anyway, for anyone deferring to the Dally M as the reason we should keep Brooks, please go back and watch 2018 in review, he was good in 6-7 games at the most. Not saying that you are saying this @jirskyr, but it is also hardly an excuse for the 5 years of crap. Please everyone, enough with the Dally M already.

Re replacement: I’d have any of those guys you mentioned instead of Brooks. But I’d rather just have Mbye there for the time being - and that is saying something - as he is spiraling down at the moment.

Ash Taylor runs rings around Brooks.
And give me Munster any day.

You’re right about Brooks being a known quantity. But it is far from reasonable.

Spell in reggies to give him a bit of perspective and renew his creative spark is the only thing I can think of in the interim.

At the moment the Roosters and Storm are that far ahead of everyone that the rest need binoculars to see them.

Tedesco’s class was never recognised by many on this forum, some suggested ‘he should play centre’ while others wanted to swap him for Canberra’s Wighton??? Please explain.

      G

I’m not referring to just this game, and he could be easily be excused for being off his game in this instance,
I’m saying that he’s been like this for most of his career, and there is no consistency in his game.

I’d love to see him killing it ,on a regular basis but I’m starting to think that it’s not going to happen.
He’s always been given excuses for his bad days and there’s always been people ready to blame others .
I will point out ,that Luke himself has never blamed anything for his patchy form, to my knowledge anyway, but geez it’s frustrating when he goes missing in games.
He’s got so much ability. But he just disappears.

@Lauren said in Panthers' coach Ivan Cleary refuses to apologise for Wests Tigers exit:

Without argument on-field performance and the composition of the ladder is what separates the winners from the losers, and being content with mediocre results in both is what the club(and fans) should be moving away from.

I think Justin deserves credit for his involvement with our financial security, as well as marketing and communication but Marina Go’s input often goes unmentioned. Her whole approach during her tenure exuded true leadership and governance. I personally thought she was more ballsy than Justin.

Yes she did. She did a lot of work involving corporate support. And the club thanked her by knifing her in the night. Such a poor outcome. When that alcoholic pissant Phil Rothfield constantly dumps on you, you know you’re doing something right.

I’m sure Madge will be sending plenty of traffic at Kikau getting his tackle count up to nullify his carries, he’ll be underdone so we need to make him work . Might even get a meat pie through him

I’ll second that. Ive no doubt he will be at least as good as Marshall. I mean really, it’s pretty hard to not reach that level. I’m hoping that we won’t be kicking on the 3rd and 4th as much now with Benchy out. 🙏

      @sheer64:

They normally hurt us out wide, so our centres need to tackle ball and all and our wingers need to stay on their man. It is going to be tough, but we have the motive to beat them and send a message to “The Bludger”.

Well didn’t that come back to haunt us!
