With what has been debated as ET’s impact in attack being far less effective than his defensive impact I think it is a no brainer for ET to start at hooker. 30 mins to take the sting out of the game than allow Liddle to come into the game at his own pace. This can go on until Liddle adapts to 80mins.
ET has a great pass on him and in that stage of the game there is no running options available for a hooker as the defence is very tight. Let him get sharp ball to the forwards and halves and then bring Liddle on mid way through the game to scheme his way around the ruck.
I base this on my opinion that ET has a slight edge in defence over Eiso at Lock but ET has a massive edge over Godinet in defence In the middle. In attack Eiso posses a better attacking threat that ET at lock and I think ET can’t be much worse than Godinet at hooker in regards to delivery and reading a game.
I was watching the game on the telly and right at the time we conceded soft try the crowed announcer started caring on like a pork chop,so i thought the tackle thad been completed and the ref had called held. It was rather confusing i thought the ref was going to call the play back.
Don’t worry about the nit picker CB…we all knew what you meant …and it’s 100% right…
LOL…like we all knew Milford plays for Bris not Storm.
Very reminiscent of the Tigers of old today
Yeah fair get. .
I don’t agree that they were reminiscent of the Wests Tigers of old though. .we came from behind to take the lead back. …i saw no heads drop after falling behind and team that fought to the end to try and win a game the white flag never went up as has been the case in recent times. .
The only problem with this is as someone mentioned before, he came into the game carrying an injury?
Why do we have a policy where some players get rested when not 100% but others play.
This was the game that McWrillik should have been starting in.
Also, other players have had to make their way back into full fitness and into first grade via ISP but some come straight back in.
Liddle looked far short of fitness out there today but so did lawerence in my opinion. What are we doing at training if being off one week they are short fitness when they return?
Reynolds. Injured his scapula before the start of the year but yet was right to play round 1 if it wasn’t for a hamstring?
Why did he go off injured 6 rounds in for an injury sustained in pre season?
Our last 3 positions should be signing up a 1st grade hooker to challenge Liddle for starting or bench.
A centre to put the pressure on Kev or free Kev up for the wings if needed, and an impact forward to turn a game!
We have 1 million or more so we should be able to get some quality players for that considering a 300,000 player can be signed for 250,000 half the way into the season which means we have room to pick up 3 almost 450,000 players for this year.
Let’s start signing some Cheques!
I thought our forwards went ok and were equal to Parramatta. There forwards ran more metres , thats because our wingers did alot more work, and we had less possession. I think Parramatta had a little more rub of the green with the penalties, Rockow’s strip was not a strip, Thompson was on the ground when the ball was stolen from him, and Moses pass was forward.
Our forwards were not up to scratch yesterday and made no metres, lost ball and penalties let us down yesterday.
Some of the defence today was great, but there were key lapses which cost us. The Moses forward pass should have been pulled up. The offload with 3 players on an Eels player was unacceptable, and Benji got isolated on the line which again, not great. We are clearly missing Packer, Taylor and Twal who are all good defenders and help keep our ruck tight.
The poor execution with the ball just put the defence under more pressure today. In the end it told.
The way to win games in the NRL is to starve the opposition of the ball and the best way to do that is to complete your sets right up to the 6th tackle, not by putting up an aimless kick before the set is complete. If the kicks had some reason to them such as looking for a 40/20 or perhaps seeing an opportunity, then fine but overall we need to dominate possession to get wins.
Warriors next week and a gaggle of teams on 8 points ready to swamp us.
Step it up boys.
Apart from the Dragons, a gaggle of teams ready to swamp all teams. We’ve beaten Storm twice this year and they’ve only had 3 losses total. They’d be ruing those games too. Sharks, Rabbits, Roosters, Broncos all 4-4, and they are decent to good sides.
I think this year is going to be about 3-game streaks. You need to try and win 2 of every 3, not get on losing streaks worse than 3. You need 13 wins to make the 8, so Dragons are only 6 short, everyone else has looked shaky at times.
I Wonder if Rowdy could play 13 and CheeKam start in the 2nd row Alioia back to the bench ???
I think Lawrence would certainly do well at 13. However, his defensive combo with Luke this year is just too valuable to change. Maybe MCK to the right and Rochow to 13. Leaving Alioia for impact off the bench.
Honestly MCK is OK in short burst’s but seeing he is our only back up for the 2nd row it gets pretty scary and is a big risk if someone in the 11/12 jerseys goes down with injury early in the game
The way he fights in tackles and doesn’t just lay down and play the ball invites penalties against the defenders too… picked up atleast one on the weekend… love the guy, just wants to fight in every hit up.
To me, it’s an option that is way under utilised. Its one of my real pet peeves whenever it’s gets to the 60th or 65 minute, the talk of field goals start and whether it’s too early. Yet if a team gets a penalty right in front, it’s considered a no brainer that you take the 2. What’s the difference? It’s never too early to take the lead.
