Kyle Lovett is not good enough to play in the NRL. Average State Cup talent at best.
Not big, not fast, not skillful & sloppy handling.
Must have contacts in high places.
Tigers crazy to offer him a new contract.
I have a left-field suggestion: play MMc as a backrower once he’s done his stint at hooker. Lovett tried really hard yesterday but his running game is ineffective and his defence is alright without being in any way dominant.
Could you play MMc at hooker to start, sub Liddle at 20, then bring back MMc last 40 as defensive backrower. Tell him to tackle his guts out and hurt people.
You don’t then need to carry Lovett, whose runs are custard anyway, and you still have a backup hooker if Liddle goes down.
I thought we bustled them and put them off their game pretty well, unfortunately we weren’t able to capitalise on that with our own game.
If our first half was our 2nd half we probably would’ve got them.
We just can’t seem to put the finishing touches on a lot of things… Very frustrating
I thought he was pretty impressive for a young guy playing decent mins against a very good pack. More to come hopefully, but he looks to have something about him.
Whilst he did some good things, he needs a lot of work on defence and was the problem with the Frizzel try. Looks to have a future in the top grade if he can miss a few less tackles.
Watching the replay, he clearly calls his man early and takes him. Lolohea misread the play and went after the second man rather than Frizell.
Better have another look Ricksen as Masters announced Frizzel as his and “clearly” pointed Liddle to take the inside man. Plain as day his fault as he is sliding and then goes back in on the inside player leaving a gaping hole.
Overall I was impressed. Okay he is not in great shape and his speed is a little down, but he had a go and showed glimpses of what lays ahead. His stats were not bad 28 tackles, with two miss tackles, of course one was a terrible read that read to a soft try, but its been a while since we have had a no6 make 28 tackles and only miss 2.
He will be better for the run, although next outing against the Chooks could get ugly for everyone

I’d love to see the stats of how many games the tigers have won with badger as the ref. I’d say less than 10%. There is no way kevie played at that ball, badge calls played at and gives them 7 tackles on our line. Bloody joke.
the tigers have two players ,woods and tedesco,in the starting side for the blues tomorrow night.
saints have one,dugan.
saints are coming fifth and wests are coming second last.
picked on reputation and or a view to the future blues side, perhaps.
i wish them good games tomorrow night but i reckon both woods and tedesco owe wests tigers big time when all this origin who ha is over.
