stats are literally the worst thing that has happened to player ratings
What does that mean? Ratings are stats themselves.
for instance everyone looks at the stats and says edwards played shit. is there a stat for ‘belted the opposition halfback so hard he was scared to run it for the rest of the game?’
missed tackles are also misleading. if a half runs out of the line, body checks a forward but slips off, stopping the forward who is then jumped on by two defenders im happy with that even though its a missed tackle. whereas if he holds on for dear life as the forward surges 15m with the half hanging off him, then resulting in a quick PTB its still a completed tackle.
prop meters are also way off. if there was a stat for ‘4th tackle hit up’ woods would lead the comp. whereas guys like grant and twal take the hard hit up early in the set before we get any momentum.
Good to win again - good Fathers Day present for all the Tiger Dads.
Thought the crowd was good and into it for 10 1/2 k. Refs were hopeless which didn’t help the score.
I would have given my MOM to Kev, two tries and was all over RTS like a cheap suit.
Thought Edwards had his best game, hopefully not his last.
I thought the crowd was dead… Only slightly got into it towards the end… Very disappointed in the lack of atmosphere tho I can see the reasons why.
Woods was costly with several errors and excruciatingly slow 5th tackle ptbs… Edwards was good in D absolutely flattened one warrior in first half right in front of us… Looks like he’s gone tho
Also honestly don’t think the Warriors every looked likely to catch us, so the pressure wasn’t there. The crowd got noisy when Nofo scored and put the game to bed.
I think though bittersweet for all fans, one of the reasons you were thinking of.
yep. the crowd wasn’t very amped, after the season we had and the local players going. the Saturday crowd V Manly was much more positive.
Brooks will start the year at 7, Reynolds at 6, Tui at 1 and Liddle at 9. Form and injuries will determine any changes throughout the year.
I see it the same way Tacky.
Yes Tacky, you and Russell both have the right opinion regarding Brooks, however I will say,and I don’t care how hard you both hammer me,Brooks has been given a great path into NRL because of his spectacular form in NYC and backing from the club…if he was a true talented halfback he would have taken control of this team long ago and even told slimey Moses to move aside and do as he is told, thats what contolling the team is about…to be honest he is a shy kid still coming out of his shell …if that’s what we want then leave him develop for another 3 or 4 years…Thurston got a kick in the arse when the Dogs didn’t want him…how far has he gone ??? maybe Brooks needs the same…Iwill leabve you guys to ponder… 😮
with his greased combed-back hair he unfortunately still looks like a kid.
Well the Knights lost so we don’t get the spoon. Considering how this season has gone that is actually a good result.
We will also finish on more competition points than the Knights, not just beat them on for and against. That should spare us another year of the world’s greatest pessimist banging on about us coming “equal last”. I’m sure he’ll bang on about something else instead unfortunately…
They got a respectful after match send off, without any fanfare.
I was personally going to just go home at full time, not boo or cheer, but i stayed and i did clap them, in the heat of the moment it seemed the correct thing to do.
On side note, i felt Teddy was happy and content, i think his new life begins today, but i got a different impression from the big guy, i was dirty with him during the break-up but i think i can forgive him if one day he returns, Teddy on the other hand is gone never to return, like Freddy and the Panthers.
Anyway, that was my take on it all, bring on 2018 and i was pretty excited to see Benji in the crowd, love that guy!
Thanks, thought it might pan out that way and I think it’s good that it did. Woods looked close to tears once or twice during the post match press conference, saying it hadn’t really hit home but it sure looked to me like it had!
