1 Potter influence

I want to discuss.

One huge change in our side is the direction that Robbie Farah is playing with.

In the past Robbie has tried to play 9, 7 and 6 all at once.

I have no doubt Potter identified this as a problem for Farah, for the team, and also for whoever was playing 7.

In round one Robbie fell back to his old ways when things started to go bad. Potter publicly indicated this, and i would assume privately hammered Farah.

The result has been Farah playing the last 4 weeks as a HOOKER…...

And what a change that has made to our cohesion in attack.....i love that word.....cohesion.

Farah i feel, is now on Potters wavelength.

And its one small, or big change that had to happen.

Sheens let Farah do whatever he wanted. It's obvious potter has reeled him in and told him to just play out of hooker. It's done wonders for his game.

Hopefully the next potter influence is saying bye bye braith anasta and hello Blake Austin.Braith murdered 3 try scoring opportnities ten metres out in the second half in pretty much his only 3 touches of the second half. While Blake continues to kill it in reggies.

Biggest influence has been mongrel in our forward pack.

I disagree.

The biggest influence is reigning in the ego of our main player which has improved his game and had a run off effect on the entire teams attitude which then leads to commitment.

We play far more direct now

Whether that is because of no Benji or Potter I don't know , but that's what I love the most

There is rarely a rule change that suits the Tigers as much as the changes that have sped up the ruck. We have the best attacking hooker in the comp, playing off the back of a pack who is making yards.

Farah doesn't need to play half back. He can get his flare and creativity out at hooker these days.

Check Farah's meters this year. Many games over 100m! Amazing. He is going to dominate SOO this year.

I know it is Potter's influence.

He did not want Benji - a control freak that was not a team player (my opinion).

He is the Head Coach - the aggression, the playing straight, the harmony and the game plans can all be attributed to him. He is the Boss.

It would all be his influence if they were going bad - wouldn't it?

Credit where credit is due. Everyone wants to blame him for anything that goes wrong but are very hesitant in handing out any accolades.

Sign him Tigers - before someone else does.

I agree. Been a massive improvement. Think he was lucky to avoid the level of criticism Benji copped, for his frequent poor decisions n the last couple of years.

well said.. if farah keeps this up in origin- nsw will have a massive chance.

we didnt lose SOO last 2 years because of farah playing 6,7 and 9.

he only overplayed his hand when it was clear the halves would do nothing in attack to spark something so he rightly decided he had to try something, else we were guarunteed to lose.

I'm not convinced it is just Potter instigating the difference and Farah willing to change. There is also something about your teammates doing their job well, that lets you do your job well.

Last year not many of Farah's peers were doing their job; it's natural, though not necessarily right, for one of your best players to try and lift and take more responsibility.

Isn't it funny what a structured, traditional game plan does? Let's be honest, RL is not rocket science. Run hard, tackle hard, let your halves control the play, let your hooker service the halves.
