2011 WTForum Player of the Year

This thread will be updated each week with the results from the forum-wide Player of the Year poll.

Each week fans are asked to vote in the front page poll, giving 3 votes to their "best" player from that week's game, 2 to their second best and 1 to their third best.

The votes are tallied by the server, then at the end of the week the player with the most votes is given 3 points, 2 to the second highest polling player and 1 to the third highest.

If two players poll the same amount of votes, both players receive equal points based on their polled ranking, with a total of 6 points allocated each week unless a tie occurs. (eg. if two players tie for first place, both receive 3 points and no other players receive any, or, if two players tie for third, they both receive 1 point each).

At the end of the year the player with who receives the most votes will be awarded the WestsTigersForum.com 2011 Player of the Year.

hmm, kul, I do agree that the system needs to be changed, I'm staggered beyond belief that consistent good performers such as Utai and Ayshford have missed out.

I think your cumulative totals idea is worth looking at - that was if someone like ayshford/utai is always 4th, he has a shot at still being player of the year due to his consistent form.

Going off the proportional system, the ladder would be:

Matt Utai - 635 points
Chris Heighington - 605 points
Keith Galloway - 538 points
Robert Lui - 444 points
Andrew Fifita - 391 points
Robbie Farah - 382 points
Blake Ayshford - 382 points
Chris Lawrence - 381 points
Wade McKInnon - 377 points
Simon Dwyer - 340 points
so on…

as I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, I won't change the system unless there is overwhelming support. So far more people are against the change

If people wish ro recognise constant performers then they should allocate there points as such.

I have had points going to Utai and Heighno as they have been deserved.
