2024 Pre-Season

I think Reilly might be in the mix for 6
Would find that vary hard to believe given we have signed Sullivan, Fainu and have Galvin waiting in the wings. Why on earth would we chuck an average outside back into the halves? He can run a bit but has zero ball playing skills. He's our NSW cup centre for another year, that's about it

So you've seen him play 5/8?

😂😂 Man there's some calls on here...
Also got Doueihi on the Books - With Sezer also being a 6 in the 7,
You'd reckon they'd be right for 6's in the top 30 to be pulling a reserve grader from centre to play there.

A few external Train & Triallists have turned up at training:

- Declan Casey
- Nick Lui-Toso
- Reuben Porter
- Sam Loizou
- Joshua Finau

I’m pretty impressed we managed to get Sam Loizou on a part time deal. he has immense pedigree as an Australian Schoolboy and debuted at 18, but got lost in the logjam of average outside backs at Parra. he could definitely come from the clouds to earn a full time deal.

As long as Benji has an open mind in regards to everyone who trials and trains at the club i am happy.Far too often we have had coaches with closed minds (JT and Tim in his last appearance being the most obvious)

Lui-Toso could surprise. Moves well for a big guy & our middles are NOT exactly 'mobile' so much as churners.

Good pick ups, cup team better already

If the over all depth of the squad is upgraded, the results SHOULD show on the 1st grade field as well. The adage you are only as strong as your weakest link rings true. Our bench has been one of the worst over the last few years. Better strength in reserves means less drop-off through injury & form slumps.

I like it.

he's got good footwork and can bend the line but I'm not entirely sure he has what it takes for first grade. that said, it's a very solid Cup signing.

Agreed. If he 'gets it', there is something to work with. If not, he's a solid reserve option.

We lost a LOT of our cup players.
Massive clean out.

That's quite a good list and I think upgrades on most we lost.

Would've liked to keep Jordan Hill though, but its all business.

Agreed bro. Couple handy wingers in cup
with Lobb & Casey pairing though. Reuben
Porter straight in for our guy Mansfield.
Massive clean out like you said I don't mind

As @jrtiger Sam L is quite a good pick up too.

And I found this article on Nick Tui-Loso,

He and Reuben are somewhat experienced, even if just at cup level... will be good to have around the younger players. Good business.
