A new index for Rumours

Is there anyway the mods would be able to start a new index topic for contract rumours.

I mean its beyond a joke, almost everyone on these forums seems to start a topic nominating some player that they think the Tigers should have. Lets face it we are lucky if the Wests Tigers sign 3-4 new players each season, but every day people seem to add another 5 players that the Tigers should sign, which never eventuate.

Yes I understand I dont have to read it but I would just like one place where contract discussion is only about players currently rostered to the Wests Tigers/Balmain Ryde Eastwood/Wests Magpies and lower grades. Then have a seperate index page for all discussion about rumoured players with confirmned sources from news articles e.g. Mitchell Pearce - Syd Morning Herald.

There would also be a section just for people to talk about who they may wish for the Tigers but its just their opoining currently and there is no relevant source e.g. Mitchell Pearce - Wish??

Sorry just my two cents, I appreciate everyone has dreams, but I would just love to see a place where I dont have to click into every topic to see whether its a credible story or just someones dream.

Thankyou to the mods who currently police this and try to lock the topics, but I for one would love to see something like I have discussed. I feel there would be a few on this forum who may agree with me??

No thanks mate, not my choice though

No dramas at all, I understand if its not in favour by the majority, but I just think there may be a way to make everyone happy.

Something as simple as even requiring a change to the posts subject heading. So if someone posts a topic say Mitchell Pearce which has not been discussed by any media at all (and Im not picking on Mitchell Pearce forum post by the way) then a mod or hopefully the Subject Owner would edit the title to say Mitchell Pearce -unsubstantiated / wish/dream etc.

Mitchell Pearce is just my opinion ,no rumours read it no where heard it from no body ,its just a view i got from watching a game of footy on Sunday.
Its a public forum , if i dont like the topic its simple , i dont bother reading it .
All most of the rumours are is somebodys hearsay.
Do you think Mitchell Pearce would suit our play? i certainly do

Then you would have to have sub topics NRL players we are linked to ,ESL players ,AFL players ,A League players,NFL players ,Super 15 players ,boxers ,jockeys etc etc etc

Yeah of course Mitchell Pearce would be great, but there is next to no chance that he will end up at the Tigers in the foreseeable future, he is signed with the Roosters until the end of 2013\. I wasnt trying to pick on you at all either, I just would like the forums to be able to be viewed easier. I dont understand why people list every player in the NRL as playing with the Tigers.

Why does a new topic need to be made for every player, just have one topic rumours and everyone can reply and add there two cents/players they want.

Anyways Im guessing that my view isnt favoured by the majority, so maybe I will start a topic on Pat Richards and another topic on Brett Hodgson… thoughts

No i never took it as picking on me .
A contract is only a piece of paper not worth a zac if one or both parties want an out .
Dont start on Hodgo , he was shown the door 2 years too early , but thats dead and buried .

Just seems like a whole new breed of posters decide to create threads about random thoughts….I agree with ya ant...its getting ridiculous

How about you old farts don't read the threads your not interested in. If new posters/people want to start a topic about something their interested in, why can't they?

This place is getting worse by each post. You should be encouraging as many people to post about as many topics as they want.

:crazy

I don't think the OP is wanting to limit the number of Topics, he is suggesting we have a restructure to the Index Page to allow clearer filters…

How bout you young peanuts actualy read the Op before posting crap!

The bigger issue for me is making sure people posting these random thoughts/rumours/hot tips/sure things are clear in the topic header and opening post. Something along the lines of:

We should sign player X
Rumour: Tigers interested in player Y
News report: Tigers talking to player Z

At the moment we get "Player X to Tigers" and the like. The Mitchell Dodds thread is probably a good example of an OP that made it clear that it was a poster's opinion we should sign Dodds and the thread progressed on that basis. Compare that to some other threads that have their origin in random thoughts from other forums. Not having a go at the posters of those threads who had no bad intention but if we start posting every rumour found on the Internet we'll need to quit our jobs to read them and realistically they aren't much better than getting a tip from a drunk down at the pub.

Rumour in RLW,a play maker who has played origin, hates his coach and wants out,but has 18 months left on his contract, but is supposedly telling everybody he wants out now.
Who could this be,my first thoughts are Pearce and Farah,I really hope it is not Farah, although I could see why he could have a gripe with Sheen's.
Anyone out there have any other suggestions or ideas about who this is.

You'd think if it was Farah they'd have said played for Australia rather then just State of Origin.
Just my two bobs worth.

You're absolutely right mate. There is a big difference between actual contract discussions and plain old rumours. It's easy to say don't look at it, but the problem at te moment is nobody knows if it's just a rumour until they look inside the thread.

Tell me whats the point of starting a thread about 'i like player x should we go after him'? seems like a waste of forum space to me. A thread like that can go on for 10 or 15 pages with people disagreeing on things and for what? unless the club shows some kind of interest why bother? i could start a thread saying the Tigers should approach Darren Lockyer out of retirement and it would have the same amount of relavence as over 90 per cent of these threads

"Storm bookend Bryan Norrie is also understood to be in the Tigers' sights."
