WESTS Tigers chief executive Grant Mayer has urged Tigers supporters to keep the faith as the club goes through a revolution.
Mayer also reiterated his support for embattled coach Mick Potter and ruled out taking any further action against star five-eighth Benji Marshall for wearing an Auckland Blues jersey in a video when revealing he was switching codes to rugby.
Mayer has been thrust into the Tigers' hot-seat during the most tumultuous time in the joint venture's short history. He recognises tears will be shed, but insists it will inevitably be for the greater good.
"It's revolution for evolution," Mayer said yesterday. "You have to go through a bit of turmoil.
"This is absolutely all about re-grouping. You have to have some fights and battles and tears, which revolution is all about.
"I would say that has been my experience. Everyone who goes through tough times on the field and tough times off the field, in the end it makes you stronger."
Mayer also voiced his support for Potter, whose position has been under scrutiny in recent weeks. The club is undertaking a review of its coaching structure with a report to be tabled at an August 29 board meeting.
"As far as I am concerned, he will be there," Mayer said.
Earlier on Sky Sports Radio, Potter acknowledged his 28-year-old star should have known better than to wear the Blues Super 15 jersey just hours after the Tigers had fallen by four points to last-placed Parramatta.
Asked if Marshall was delivering a final "up yours" to his critics, Potter said: "Yeah, I see it a little bit like that but I think it's more just in bad taste.
"I wouldn't say it's naivety because I think Benji probably knows better."
He added the long-running saga over Marshall's future had harmed the Tigers' season.
"It's been distracting for the team," Potter said. "He's an influential player among his peers and I didn't want to let him go but he's made that decision to move on and I wish him all the best."

Just one question - is it possible to have a revolution or evolution with the same board?
